A comment on the question "Export playlist to other Songbird ..." in Songbird:
All I can found in the wiki is the information that a playlist can only be exported to a computer, that "uses the same physical addressed library". How weird is that? What's an export tool good for, if I can't imort it under real conditions? Why are no relative locations used? – Konrad, on July 15, 2009 06:34

@klint:
I copied 2.000 files into the folder and changes 4.000 existing ones. Songbird was not running during this process.
After I started Songbird, it did nothing - it did not recognized the new files and it did not recognized the changes.
The folder, I did all the changes in was the whole time set as the folder to monitor in the Songbird-Options.
So, how can I tell Songbird that there are new and changed files?-

Konrad asked a question in Songbird on July 08, 2009 06:47:
Monitor a folder ...Hi,
I've enabled the option to monitor a folder by Songbird.
But if I delete a file or subfolder, Songbird doesn't seem to recognize that.
And does Songbird also monitor changes in the metadata? If I copy my whole mp3 collection from another PC into the monitored folder, a lot of files exist and only the metadata have changed. Does Songbird recognize those metadata changes and update its database automatically?
Thanks

Konrad reported a problem in Songbird on June 26, 2009 07:35:
Importing a Playlist add Songs to library even if they exist ...Hi,
if I import a playlist from another Songbird into my Songbird (and only the playlist, no other files), the songs from the playlist occur twice in my library. All files that are in the playlist are still in my library and in my file system. I only want to add a playlist as a special composition of files.
Why are the songs added nonetheless to my library? This is very annoying!
Thus, for what is there an export/import function for playlists in Songbird, when I even not transfer some playlists from one Songbird to another????

Konrad replied on June 26, 2009 07:19 to the problem "Un-Writable files ... ? Metadata can not be written ..." in Songbird:
I've an idea:
The error, that the metadata could not be written occurs, when I import new media via "Scan for media ..." ... After this, SB copies the files into its own folder and library structure, but does not give any respond about this. Looking at my folders with the Explorer, the process took much more time than assumed.
Thus, if I edit the metadata of the new files instantly after importing, the metadata can may be not be written, because the mp3 files are not at their right location yet.

Select multiple folder for media scanning ...Hi,
is there a way to select multiple folder at once in the "Scan for Media ..." dialog box?
Or can the dialog please at least remember my last folder so that I do not have to browse the whole deep tree again and again?
Thanks

Copy the value of the "Artist" metadata into the "Album Artist" ... ?Hi,
for some Songs I want to copy the value of the "Artist" metadata into the "Album Artist" metadata field. Is there a way to do this? Or is there an AddOn for this available?
Thanks

Konrad asked a question in Songbird on June 23, 2009 06:13:
Export playlist to other Songbird ...Hi,
what is the export function for playlists for, if I cannot import the playlist on another PC with the same library (and songs) but with another music folder?
I exported my playlists and Songbird wrotes the absolute path into the .pls and .m3u files, thus if I import them on another computer, the songs are not found.
How can I export and re-import playlist correctly?

Share settings or import profiles ...Hi,
is there a way to share the settings between 2 Songbird installations on 2 different PCs?
Can I synchronize the libraries, playlists, addons and other settings between two Songbirds?
Even if the location of the library is different (D:\Music vs. E:\Music)?
Thanks
