    I have version .1204

    I don't get any kind of an error message.

    I don't have any linking to a network location though I can test that if you'd like.

    Everything is linked to a variety of places in my computer.

    If its a file just sitting on my desktop then it works but a shortcut of any kind, linked to even the same file will not work, I turn off bumptop and it works perfectly.

    Sorry, I didn't know it had the RSS feature already in it, still working with facebook would be a good idea.

    Smoother Fan Outs
    The mouse tracking seems almost too precise.

    It calculates everything relatively smoothly and such but it can potentially cause problems for normal users.

    If say you hand twitches or you run out of mousepad room, this would cause the mouse on the screen to move thus making the fan out of piles less appealing or unintended, also having the select icons feature require you to try again but that can be ignored seeing that the current select feature for 2D setups generally cause the same issue.

    If you could make an option in settings between self created fan out and automatic, or even (i don't know how this would go about) a guided fan out, much like the current self done but follows a smoother look

    i.e:
    user takes a pile and tries to make a straight line with it, but because they are not a skilled professional gamer, or have a high sensitive mouse, the line they create is wobbling, instead of that have the computer calculate the points and remove the outliers as soon as the user releases.

    3D Icons
    What about actual 3 dimensional icons. The technology is there and you think of bumptop as a link to the real world desktop. But most people have several cluttered toys and trinkets that will enhance their work environment.

    Imagine when the new spore game is out and they load one of their iconic characters as the "bumptop icon" but it moves around the desk or remains in one place and occasionally hops or just remains stationary like a doll.

    Or for minesweep you could just make a 3D iconic landmine that if you allow the company to customize the loading animation, it explodes when you click on it.

    Most of this is speculative and I realize is probably not going to be possible for the first release but hopefully will be implemented some time in the future.

    I have an idea on the potential of bumptop photo galleries. Get a facebook app and with some of the facebook API's maybe you could potentially link certain galleries of you or (if the user allows you) of your friends. This might allow for more personalization of the desktop without having to have your pictures actually on your computer.

    Also possibly linking it to the Apple's mobile me or flikr might create a better desktop experience while still allowing the user to be more online oriented.

    How come when I click my icons I get the animation of it opening but it actually doesn't load?
