yes, I think that would be the reasonable thing to do. It also appears to me that it would also more accurately portray the reality of the situation: after you have exhausted the available dividend, you are dipping into the director's loan account, isn't this correct?
On a more practical note it would be a very valuable feature to have, as there have been numerous times that I have indulged in taking a little bit extra along with the dividend, and then lost track of the total amount of my director's loan

Smart payments not assigning to director's loan accountI have taken a payment from the company that was more than was available to me from dividents/salary etc. However, "Smart payment" assigned it all to dividend on importing the transaction from my statement. Shouldn't it have assigned the amount available to draw as dividends to dividend and the rest to director's loan amount? That way it would be possible to track how much I had overdrawn from the company, whereas now it's impossible. -
