Hi all. It appears (based on a reply from @biz in another thread) that Twitter deployed a fix for the [Older] button problem that we have with our Recent and Archives pages yesterday.
I've been checking throughout the day, and it seems I can consistently go all the way back to page 43 of my Archives. And there are times when I can go as far back as page 160 (for a total of 3200 tweets).
I'm also able to browse back to page 13 of my Recent timeline. Sometimes I even manage to go as far back as page 19.
Several people have also reported that they are now able to access their older Favorites, which were previously not browse-able.
Anyway, since the fix was deployed, some people have been able to see all their tweets, while others are only able to go back to page 13/14/15. If you happen to still be experiencing this problem after the fix, it might help to add a reply to say so in the new topic that Twitter just created to get feedback regarding this.

Hi all. According to @biz in another thread, Twitter is hoping to deploy a fix for the [Older] button problem that we have with our Recent and Archives pages today.
I just checked mine and I'm currently able to browse through 43 pages of my Archives, which takes me back to May 2008. Earlier this morning I was able to browse all the way back to page 160 (for a total of 3200 tweets dating back to Jan 2007). Perhaps they're still tweaking the fix.
I'm currently able to browse back to page 13 of my Recent timeline -- equivalent to roughly 3 hours worth of tweets for my account. Earlier this morning I could go all the way back to page 19 (which was around 2 hours worth of tweets -- most of the people I follow are asleep right now).
At least a couple of people I know are now able to access their older Favorites, which were previously not browsable.
Anyway, since the fix was deployed, some people have reported being able to go past page 10. If you happen to still be experiencing this problem after the fix, it might help to add a reply to say so in the other thread.

A number of people have reported the same problem, but with their Favorites pages, i.e. the "Next" button has disappeared from the bottom of the page so there's no way to see their favorites past the first 20. Are these two problems related (i.e. no next updates and no next favorites)? The Favorites problem has been reported here by numerous people under different topic headings (search for missing favorites), but no one has received any reply or fix. Thanks.

I think you're right in some respects - because it isn't a system-wide issue, there really isn't the same urgency to address it either here or on the blog. But I've had good experiences with Twitter so far, in that they seem responsive to problems even if they take awhile to solve them... Whether we're paying or not! :) So, I'm just surprised now to see it go on so long without any acknowledgment, even, that there's an issue.

I think they're fully aware of the problem, but they don't really care because a] it only affects a small percentage of Tweeters and b] it's a free service, so there's no obligation to fix it because they don't owe us anything.
That's just how I see it. I could be judging overly Twitter harshly. But it does seem to have been going on a long, long time without any visible attempt to rectify the problem or any word about progress on fixing it, if indeed they *are* trying fix it.

1 Month has passed and this is still not fixed. I received this e-mail reply on August 15 from Twitter support in regards to the support ticket I personally sent them about the problem back on July 23:

Hi,
Thanks for the email. This is a bug. Going back further than 200 entries or 10 pages is currently not working for a number of users. All data is still there and we're working on a way to make it accessible again . Sorry about that, and thanks for your patience!
Cheers,
Mark

Just to clarify: I am not trying to go further than 200 entries or 10 pages! I’m talking about going to tweet number 21 on page 2 of my follower’s tweets! The Older Button is grayed out. Has been for a long long long time.

Perhaps Twitter support has lumped our problem into this one where folks can't see back 10 pages of tweets. Hell, I'd LOVE IT if I could go back just 2 pages.
Still <waiting>.......................................</waiting>

Looks like mine disappeared the other day... Have no clue why though. Unless something like TweetDeck could've broken it, but I've never heard of that happening... It's pretty weak to only have one or two hours worth of updates readable anywhere. Tried the mobile page, the standard page, tried putting in ?page=2 after the url, doesn't show in tweetdeck... Seriously annoying.

This is really frustrating... I *still* don't have an older button, and I *still* can't get to older pages by manually changing the URL. And doing a SHIFT-F5 while I refresh doesn't change anything. I agree with PortiaDaCosta, that this isn't even being mentioned (let alone addressed) because it's not a system-wide problem.
And by "hacking the URL," I mean that at earlier times when the older button was MIA, you could change the normal home page URL from this:
http://twitter.com/home
to this:
http://twitter.com/home?page=2
And then change the 2 to a 3, and then a 4, etc., to get to older pages manually. But now, even that doesn't work.
I know Twitter is a free service, and it does annoy me when people come down so hard on you guys for something they're getting without paying a red cent... So I'm trying to be patient. It's just frustrating when this is clearly still an issue, and it's not even being mentioned on the blog or anything...
