Login to TripIt, go to the 'Account' page and select 'Close Account'. The rest should be self-explanatory. If you need any assistance, you can contact me at support@tripit.com. Thanks.

Kristin replied on September 17, 2008 21:59 to the problem "Tripit Widget doesn't work on my blog?" in TripIt:
Sorry to hear that. Is it possible that you didn't hit "save" when you enabled your blog badge? You can verify that your blog badge is on from your publishing options page, http://www.tripit.com/account/edit/se...
If that's not the issue, I'm happy to investigate. You can email me at support@tripit.com. Thanks.

A comment on the idea "Allow creating "private" notes" in TripIt:
Yeah, absolutely, though I think you'd want to beef up your distinctions of what's private and what's shareable... For example, I think it'd be super handy to record confirmation numbers, frequent flyer mile numbers, etc... but I'd want to know that those pieces of information are always kept hidden except to me (or "trusted" friends/travelers). You could do this very simply by putting a lock icon next to such input fields. – Chris Messina, on September 04, 2008 23:53

I was thinking about that. Perhaps it's less automated -- maybe there's a simply link off to the side of each item that has a location attached to it: "Add a map for this location." Then I can pick which areas I want a map for (for example, if I'm going back home, I won't need maps). – Chris Messina, on September 04, 2008 23:27

True, but I humbly submit that I did not know that, nor will other users. They may fail at using the service, just as I almost did.
You might consider changing the text on the home page from "Just forward your travel confirmation emails to: plans@tripit.com" to "Just forward your travel confirmation emails to: tripit@tripit.com." The old email address would continue to work in perpetuity.
This would not impact users who are already successfully using the service in any way. And "tripit@tripit.com" makes just as much sense for new users, if not more.
