Kristin replied on December 10, 2009 19:39 to the problem "Incorrect time being mapped from Tripit to ical" in TripIt:
The simple solution is to turn off the auto-adjust setting (http://www.tripit.com/account/edit/se...) for your personal TripIt calendar feed. That way, your TripIt events will show up at the right time regardless of your calendar application's timezone setting. Furthermore, you won't have to make any changes to your calendar application that would affect other non-TripIt related events.
The only exception to this recommendation is Google Calendar which seems to handle floating timezones in a different manner than most other calendar applications. And, in this case, we've found it works best to keep the auto-adjust setting turned on. While your TripIt events may show offsets initially, you should expect your events to show up at the right time once you've changed the Google Calendar timezone setting to the local timezone.

Kristin replied on November 24, 2009 17:56 to the question "Is there a way to have TripIt monitor stand-by bookings and automagically update the itinerary?" in TripIt:
Good question, Andrea. Handling itinerary updates is on our radar, just no timing set yet. I'll be sure to pass your feedback along to the product team. For now, I recommend removing the original segment by using 'Options/Edit' on the flight reservation in your itinerary and then 'Remove' on the particular segment. If you have further questions, you're welcome to contact us directly at support@tripit.com. Thanks.
Kristin replied on September 15, 2009 17:30 to the problem "Flights that cross the international date line west-to-east are not handled well" in TripIt:
Thanks for letting us know. Timezones are always a bit tricky especially when crossing the international dateline. I'd love to take a look at your account and investigate further. Can you please contact me at support@tripit.com? Thanks.

Kristin replied on August 20, 2009 22:22 to the idea "It should be possible to delete or disassociate one half on a round-trip airline itinerary" in TripIt:
Thanks, Ethan. Handling itinerary updates, duplicates and cancellations is definitely on our radar. I'll be sure to pass along your feedback. With respect to separating segments of a round trip ticket, the only thing I can suggest is copying the entire flight reservation to a new trip first. You can then remove the segments from the respective trips using "Options/Edit" on the flight objects from the main itinerary page and then 'Remove' on the individual segment. Hope this helps somewhat.

Kristin replied on June 22, 2009 16:08 to the question "Managing an extended road trip" in TripIt:
For now, you can only specify a primary destination when creating a trip. However, if you have more than one destination, you can add plans (such as maps, directions, activities and notes) on the days you'll be arriving at new locations. This will update your daily locations accordingly and our features like Who's Close and your Location Stream will accurately reflect your locations during your trip. The ability to specify multiple destinations when creating trips is on our radar.

Kristin replied on June 19, 2009 15:03 to the problem "Incorrect time being mapped from Tripit to ical" in TripIt:
Do you change your calendar's timezone settings when you travel to reflect the local time zone? If so, then you should keep your calendar feed setting configured to respect time zones. Otherwise, you can simply ignore time zones for your calendar feed via "Settings/Publishing your data"(http://www.tripit.com/account/edit/se...). To do this, deselect "Automatically adjust time zones in your calendar feed..." under "For yourself/Calendar feed".
Let me know if you have further questions. Thanks.

Kristin replied on June 05, 2009 17:03 to the question "How do you add Mileage Details to Journey Legs?" in TripIt:
For now, mileage is associated with flight objects only. I'm happy to pass along your feedback to the rest of the team.
Are you hoping to boost your travel stats? If that's the case, could you please contact me at support@tripit.com so we can take a look at a specific trip in your account? Thanks.
