The most recent update I've seen from a Twitter rep regarding account restore was from 8 days ago, in another thread. Click here to see.

(It's offline because they're still working on fixing bugs.)

Apparently the bugs are still there. For some reason I created an account on my phone that is not the same as the one I created on the web. when attempting to delete the duplicate account I got a message that said "twitter is stressed out and cannot perform this function" - what the heck?!

I can't restore my account "The_Kenny". I clicked on the activation link in the mail but still 12+ hours later nothing has happened.
I just tried to send the request again and it was possible...

i've tried 3 times to restore my twitter account. my screen name is: bitmatix.
i've received the "Restore your Twitter account" email and after clciking the confirmation link i've been told, that it only takes a few minutes to restore my account, but after that nothing else happend.

Hi littlegirl. Your best bet is to send an email to support AT twitter DOT com.

In that email (not here since this is a public forum), please describe the restore problem that you're having and include your username and the email address you used to sign-up.

Within minutes of sending that email, you should receive an automatically generated email to confirm that your support request has been received. There will be a ticket number in that email and a link to the ticket itself so you can view it and add info to it.

I have exactly the same problem trying to restore my account (chastityanne). Could someone please take a look and see why the restore process isn't working?

this is right- we have a language setting bug that causes this to happen. you may also see the word NULL in your sidebar instead of your usual stats. – crystal, on August 11, 2008 23:01

For those of you getting the "Something is technically wrong" error page after logging in with your temporary password, I figured out how to get past it. Once you log in, delete ONLY the "lang" cookie (if you delete the session cookie, you'll be logged out again). Then go to http://twitter.com/account/settings, make sure the correct language is selected, and click Save. This appears to fix whatever was wrong with the "lang" cookie. You should be good to go now.

I am having the same problem- deleted my account almost 2 weeks ago, tried to restore it a few days ago and it says it is still in the process of being deleted.

i'm having the same problem.

whenever I click on the link in the Restore email, I am taken to http://www.twitter.com/home. Upon logging in, I get taken to the "Your account is being deleted" page with the option to "Reconsider" by submitting my username or email. It's an infinite loop.

Please help. i would really want my account back.

Yes

-Did you receive the email confirming the restore, but still can't log in?
Yes

-Are you able to view your profile or log in at all?
Yes and No. I can see http://twitter.com/kissifer if I delete your cookies, but after I try to login I constantly get a "something is technically wrong" page.

-What happens when you enter your email address here: http://twitter.com/account/deleted
If I delete twitter.com cookies first, it says "Your account is still in the process of being deleted. When it is done, (within 24 hours) you can come back here to restore it." I've tried twice now, separated by more than 24 hours.

-Are you able to change your password via this link:

I see a page saying that instructions have been sent to me, but no email appeared (after 5 minutes or so). Yesterday when I tried, I received the email and clicked the link it contained, but didn't receive a reset password (I can't remember exactly what happened).

My problem is the email I used was typed incorrectly so now that I deleted the account I can no longer reactivate it since the email is incorrect. I sent in a help ticket 11 days ago and still no response! My cellphone is attached to that deleted account and I want it attached to my current account. HELP~

I am stuck in the loop of being unable to restore my account that is still showing but not letting me update. I didn't delete it, & don't understand why it is seemingly deleted!
Its all bit of a pain after a long time using twitter for heaps of stuff.
