A comment on the problem "keeping account updated" in Hubdub:
maybe just be a little patient. I'm quite sure they're looking into it - but there are still other things they have to do, so it could take a few minutes (or days). – kruijs, on July 01, 2008 07:09-

That's a really great improvend!
*thumbsup*
minor things:
-background text: "You can include line breaks, basic HTML (bold text, italics etc) and simple tables" great! thanks for pointing that out. Where is a complete description of all possibilities (what is possible and how to do it, especially tables should be explained to novices)?
-the "subcategory" description text (which changes when selecting an entry) starts beneath the subcategory drop down list but wraps way back to beneath the category list (just optical issue)
-the "settlement rules" textarea should also provide a vertical scrollbar
-the "suspend date" drop down lists are somehow stretched vertically (but's really just an optical issue)
I'm using FF 2.0.0.11 on WinXP. Yeah, I did not participate in the world-download-record :)
I'm still waiting for an per option additional textbox for a somewhat more detailed description for each of the options...

I've read about the copyright issue when using images, tom wrote:
"Please, only user images you have the right to use in this way (ie. you own the copyright, the images are unrestricted or you've obtained permission from the copyright holder). "
I find it very problematic (not for me, but for hubdub) if/because users use just around every image they will find - without checking the licensing.
Hubdub would publish many images without the correct allowance.
In addition, we should watch closely whether inappropriate images are used.

Ahhhh,
I wanna have TRIGGERS on my stakes. So I can make them cashing-in whenever a certain level has been reached (either gain or loss)
And maybe TRIGGERS on the options to make stakes automatically whenever the probability get in a certain range.
That would be coooool.
When you can implement that, I can certainly do without a watch-list.

jenni, I wasn't aware of that because my questions don't get void that often ;).
It is not possible to start a new question without that special link though. That could also be helpful to create similar questions in which only details change: DIJA or sports questions for example.
There should be a button labeled "Create New Question based on this one", IMHO.

Create a market using the data of an existing (maybe already void) market.
As randburg said: "I hope soon that an alternative will be developed by the hubdub programming crew that will allow edits or adjustments to prediction OUTCOMES without having to void a question."
I know it will not be possible to edit existing questions because of the risk of reversing the meaning of the answers. That would be a real mess.
This mechanism could be a compromise.

The "best" question is not automatically the one with the highest activity. See the DIJA questions with high activity, each day, but are they amongst the "best"?
But I like the idea, but anyhow, defining "best" would be quit biased.
It definitely should include some of the most controversial questions (which will not have such a high activity).-

You made a good point, meanderdings, the title of the badge. "Super" user sounds like "superior user", better than the plebs. which we certainly aren't.
I had the impression that you already saw it that way - thanks, for clarifying.
Maybe you for your part have the impression some of us think/behave that way. this is certainly not the case. None of us thinks that way. Really, none of us.

meanderingsearcher, thank you for your confidence in us, hubdub, and yourself. comments like yours are really helpful making things better.
but one thing: what could a nuclear meltdown look like involving a super user? And another question: why are you acting hostile against super users anyway? we've had fun together in the past. you, me, the others. Why can't we have fun together since some of us have an "s" badge at their names? really, not much has changed since then - we're all still enjoying hudbub without any retentions. playing as we played it before, commenting on questions, reading news stories, investigating topics of interest, flagging inappropriately made questions; anything we ambitious hudbubbers did before.
