k.satirli reported a problem in Treasuremytext on June 15, 2008 14:43:
web SMS result in SMS spamI was texting with a relative of mine today and utilized the web gateway TMT offers and the recipient kept receiving the "new" SMS, as well as approximately four to five of the older messages that I sent before.
I first thought this was due to the AJAX-y interface that is used, so I reloaded the page, but the recipient still kept receiving up to an additional five messages.
How can this be fixed?
recipient uses a GSM phone (Nokia 6510) on the KPN network (Netherlands)

messages sent to US subscribers do not show my numberI just sent a text message to a friend of mine in the US and they did not receive my number as "sending party" but rather had "sms@heysystems.com" listed as the sender.
What gives?
[EDIT]
the recipient is using Verizon Wireless

k.satirli asked a question in PayPal on June 12, 2008 03:00:
"temporary hold" - what does it really mean?I have been a Paypal user for a couple of years now and usually pay everything under $100 with Paypal (if at all possible), because of the simplicity it provides me with.
Today, while carrying out a transaction that did not meet the $100 mark but actually went well beyond it, my account was apparently flagged and I was given "Limited Access" status.
I have carried out three transactions in the last few days and all three of them were flagged after today's transaction, even though I have paid _everything_ on time, all the time.
My account access was restored after I carried out the following steps:
1.) change passwords
2.) change security questions
3.) fax / upload a document, identifying me as the actual owner of the account
So far, so good, yet, the three transactions are still listed as "on temporary hold" and the recipients are not seeing the funds in their respective accounts, even though the transaction history lists all three transfers as completed (without a hitch).
How long does it take until the temporary hold disappears? Paypal's "security" measure (which I very well understand and am thankful for) has so far cost me $50 with one of the sellers, due to a chargeback (even though the transaction went through fine) and I would love to know how long it will take to get this issue resolved.
How long does a "temporary hold" last?

a bit more privacyTMT,
here are some suggestions you might like to implement:
1.) make the "#" setting more visible. Right now, it is very hard to find the place that tells you that the # sign will make your message invisible.
2.) provide layers of privacy. Eg: I feel fine sharing my textstream with the world, but I do not want the frontpage to list when (and who) I am sending text messages to thru the TMT interface.
k.satirli replied on May 26, 2008 09:50 to the question "Selling books?" in Treasuremytext:
it really depends on the book itself.
think about:
- quality
- amount of pages
- color of B/W ?
- how much customization can be done - think: annotate special messages
If it is just a slab of printed pages, it would be _way_ less than if it was a nice, designed book from lulu.
I'd say anywhere between $15 and $30, largely depending on the amount of texts I can get into the book-

Hmm strange, I never had this problem before.
I am sure that you already tried this, but it is nonetheless worth mentioning that you could try to replace the old RSS feed with http://www.treasuremytext.com/SMS/tdo... (I figure that this one is yours).
TMT made some changes to their system lately and from what I know, RSS was one of the updates.
Let me know how it works.

A .csv is a comma-separated file, meaning plaintext with a special way of formatting, more information on Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comma-se... ).
A RSS feed is formatted XML, again, with a special structure. See http://www.whatisrss.com/ for more information

RFC: SMS tagging / extending the interfaceAs an extension to http://getsatisfaction.com/treasuremy... , I would like to post this request for comments with some thoughts on making TMT rock even more than it does now.
I realize that TMT is primarily a SMS storage solution, but I find myself liking the TextStream more and more, mostly because it allows for live- AND life blogging from any spot I am, thanks to my phone.
At times, I experience things that I would love to share with the readers of my blog and TMT puts me in a position to do so, however, I still have to prefix my SMS to provide some geographic context.
My proposal is as follows:
Provide users with (at least) four prefixes to show where they are right now. The prefixes are only used for geographic positioning and I would suggest using the @ character for that.
Example:
@c = in car, either as driver or passenger
@h = at home
@p = in public, on some road etc, as a pedestrian / biker, during an event
@t = at train, train station, (railed) public transport
Users should also be able to extend this interface with a max. of 5 more prefixes.
The same overall style should be utilized for the way that folders are extended with the difference that the amount of folder-tags is not limited (if at all possible) and that there are no standard tags right from the start. (You could introduce one standard folder "live blogging" and assign prefix " #1 " to it though, to expose users to this function).
As an example, say I a want to send a message to my TextStream and want to tag it for folder "live bloggin" and the content of the message relates to something I have experienced on a train, I would use:
---
@t #1 just saw Paul on the train, texting away like crazy. No wonder the TMT servers are overloaded.
---
Both prefixes have to be suffixed by a space in order to make it recognizable for the system. Error handling should be up to the user, so if someone has set up a folder with " #1 " as the prefix, the message should still be placed in the correct folder, but the user should be able to move the message in the system.
Furthermore, if a message is received like this:
---
<space>@p #1 Just saw Katie in a pub, discussing TreasureMyVoice, sounded interesting
---
the system will simply ignore it, so the <space> character should be a way to "defuse" the triggering system.
Now, discuss!</space></space>
