Hi Kid,
Dunno if you're still following this. At the moment there isn't a future to do this, but you can simply tag your book as "unowned" or something similar. Or you could keep them in a separate account?
There is a new feature called "collections" on the horizon that promises this sort of functionality. When it comes around, I suspect there will be a function to move "books tagged X" to a collection.

IE8 continues to ask for security update, even though it "does not apply"I have just installed IE8. Every time it start it asks me to install a security update and takes me to the page "Update for Windows Vista (KB943302)" http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/de...
I then download and attempt to install Windows6.0-KB943302-v2-x86.msu, but get the message "The update does not apply to your system".
This would be fine, if it didn't then ask me to download it again the next time I started IE8.
Additionally, IE8 always starts with add-ons disabled. When I go into the add-on manager they all appear to be ENabled. I don't know if the disabling is because of the lack of security update, or if it's unrelated.
I am running a genuine installation of Vista Home Premium 32-bit, I have made sure my Windows Updates are up-to-date, and I have rebooted my machine. Isn't rebooting supposed to solve all Microsoft bugs? ;)
Has anybody else encountered this? Got any tips on how to look for workarounds?

Additional vendor details not saved/page not foundThe new "did you create this application?" button for vendors is great! However, I found one little problem... after filling in basic details I was presented with an option to fill in more details (icon, etc).
When I clicked "submit" on that page I get sent to http://wakoopa.com/vendors/dashboard/... with a "Page not found" error. This happened whether I was logged in on my personal Wakoopa account or not.
To work around this I revisited http://wakoopa.com/vendors and clicked on "Settings", filled in my vendor details there, and then clicked submit. It saved fine from the Settings page, but I'm guessing others may not try that.
Another point, you may want to clarify for existing Wakoopa users that this will be a separate account. I wasn't too sure but decided to be brave and sign up anyway, trusting that I'd use Get Satisfaction if any problems arose :D
Thanks for this new feature, looking forward to trying it out!-

d❤vid seaward shared an idea in Get Satisfaction on April 24, 2009 15:41:
Allow users to share details with companiesI would like to be able to define details that I can share with companies, especially when reporting bugs. Examples include global-level details (my OS), company-specific details (my username), and product-specific details (version of the product I'm using). These examples are software-oriented, but could apply to other companies as well.
This would obviously be opt-in as not everyone would be comfortable sharing their username, etc.
When creating a question/idea/problem/praise, I should then be able to choose from a list which details I want to add to this issue. (Having an "all by default" option would be great.)
Example: Under global I have defined a field called "OS" with a value "Windows Vista", under Widgetr Corp (the company) I've defined "username" "kwill" and under Desktop Widgetr app (the product) I've defined "version" as "0.9.2".
I report a problem for Desktop Widgetr app. Next to it all the fields and their values appear. (But if I was reporting a problem for Gadget Corp, only the "OS" field would appear.)
The company responds and asks which version of Vista I'm using, so I *update* my field to say "Windows Vista Home Premium 32". This serves me well in future issues that I track with this and other companies!
Points of trickiness:
* The fields should not update in old issues. If I reported a problem 6 months ago and I've upgraded in the meanwhile, it may not apply anymore, and this would be confusing.
* It should be easy for customers to add or or companies to request new fields when looking at a topic (e.g. Company asks, "Which browser are you using?" and adds a "browser" field, customer comes back to topic and fills it in (and chooses whether to make it global/company/product-specific))
* Maybe there should be topic-specific fields too.
* My assumption is that like everything else, this sharing is public. I am not suggesting anyone wants to or should share passwords, personal info, etc.
* Link details. If I'm providing my username for a webapp, in most cases it would probably be useful to link to my profile on that webapp.
OR, is all this already covered in part by http://www.getsatisfaction.com/getsat... - in which case I'd like to focus this suggestion on providing an easy way for me as casual user, rather than a company, to provide this information repeatedly.

d❤vid seaward replied on April 24, 2009 15:05 to the question "How do I clear out old alerts?" in Wakoopa:
I also have this problem, in the tracker and on the site, with the last three blog posts from Wakoopa (aka "News from Wakoopa").
Previously, I had "Wakoopa server downtime" and "Fill in our survey" constantly appearing as new alerts. I clicked on:
* the individual links from my tracker
* "View all my alerts from Wakoopa" from my tracker
* each of the alert links from http://wakoopa.com/explore
...but they still remained as new items.
Yesterday, I had "We've got a new office" as my only new alert (i.e. the others seemed to be marked as read). It had the same problem, in that no matter what I clicked on, it didn't get marked as read.
(By the way, congrats on the new office, and I enjoyed the video - when is your first album out? :D )
Today, all three are showing as unread. No matter what I click on, they don't get marked as read.-

Separate Adventure Games Studio editor and gamesI've previously suggested this on the Wakoopa site itself, but as you'll see trying to summarize this split is a little difficult, so here it is in glorious verbosity!
It appears that all AGS games and the AGS editor are lumped together:
a) http://wakoopa.com/software/various-a... contains many different EXEs, so many that they don't all fit on the page
b) http://wakoopa.com/executables/agsedi... points to "Various AGS Games" (above)
c) http://wakoopa.com/software/adventure... only contains agsedit.exe which I presume is an old name for the AGS Editor EXE
Since these are actually separate applications (albeit built using the same IDE), they should be separated:
1) AGSEditor.exe should be merged with agsedit.exe in http://wakoopa.com/software/adventure...
2) All other EXEs (5days.exe, KQ3.exe, QFG2VGA.exe, etc) should be given their own entries, as they are each separate games. Maybe set each of their icons to the current "Various" icon, category fields to "Adventure/RPG" and developer fields to "Adventure Game Studio", and rely on the community to update them further [*] [**]
3) Whatever logic Wakoopa currently uses to track AGS EXEs should be updated so that future games also get their own page. I reckon the following logic will suffice: if it's an EXE that registers as Adventure Game Studio, track it under it's EXE name with "Various" icon, category "Adventure/RPG" and developer "Adventure Game Studio", and rely on community updates
4) NB the Adventure Game Studio Editor developer should definitely remain Chris Jones
[*] Once this is resolved I'll happily post something on the AGS forums and I'm sure the players and authors there will eagerly sign up for Wakoopa (if they aren't already on) and sort these sorts of details out. Heck, maybe they'll even start putting Wakoopa usage badges on their game pages! :)
[**] If my suggestion for defaults is not possible, I'd suggest going ahead with the split anyway and relying on the Mechanical Wakoopian Turks to fix it. I'll be one of them!
