A comment on the idea "Support for bit.ly accounts (not just bit.ly shortening)" in atebits:
Excellent point, and not only that but if someone else shortened the same link using Tweetie, then the link data is aggregated for everyone who shortens it using the same client. I had to switch to Tr.im to shorten links on my iPhone so that I can get data. – Kyle, on November 13, 2009 04:03

I noticed this. I was wondering why people were using version 0.9 again. I saw a blogger at Mashable posting back and forth with Bigbird and Tweetie. How much longer??? – Kyle, on September 24, 2009 23:27

Kyle reported a problem in atebits on September 03, 2009 17:35:
Missing tweets in your timeline when creating a tweet in TweetieWhen sending a new tweet from Tweetie (desktop) new tweets that were sent by other people between the time of the last tweet on your timeline and your new tweet do not ever appear in your timeline. This happens about 70% of the time. Manually refreshing does not correct the issue. You must quit Tweetie and then relaunch it, and when you do, new tweets appear between the previous last tweet and your new tweet you just sent.
It's extremely frustrating to have to quit Tweetie and relaunch each time you send a new tweet to make sure you don't miss tweets.
So in summary, (and to reproduce), note the most current tweet on your timeline. Then create and send a new tweet from Tweetie. Your new tweet will appear immediately at the top. Note that there are no new tweets between yours and the one below it. Force a manual refresh. Nothing happens. (You can wait for the next API call too and you might get new tweets after yours. The missing tweets still don't appear.) Then quit Tweetie and relaunch. Voila you will then have new tweets between your new tweet and the previous tweet below it that weren't there before.
Anyone else having this problem? This never occurs in the iPhone client.
Ashponders, I hope you see this and pass it on to Loren. This seems like a big bug.

Ashponders, any update on when this is coming? Loren said it was to be implemented 4 months ago. Thanks. – Kyle, on August 19, 2009 04:28

It's back! Yay. Although, it's hard to trust them again after this. It seems like bit.ly has enough funding to be around for a long, long time. – Kyle, on August 13, 2009 23:40
