Cool, thanks. To be honest, the lack of compression straps is the only thing keeping me from making an immediate purchase (especially with the St. Patrick's Day deal in effect). My Dee Dog has served me VERY well for a decade now but it has reached the end of its service life. We'll try to hang on until we can get some straps. Thanks again.

Where are the compression straps? Why is there no option to add compression straps on the custom messenger bags in the bag builder? My Dee Dog needs replacing, I need compression straps. There is a posting here from 7 months ago saying that the compression strap option was being implemented. Has it been implemented yet? If not, will it ever be?
l0b0t replied on March 11, 2009 18:57 to the question "Why is the front flap on my waxed canvas messenger constantly curling/rolling up?" in Timbuk2:
The same thing happened to my Dee Dog. On my bag it seems to be more a case of shrinkage of the material that pipes around the seam of the flap. Neither the waxed canvas or the rubber liner are shrinking but the piping that joins the two together is, hence, a curled up flap. First started on mine about 2 years into use, after another 4 years the crease that formed on the rubber liner abraded through. This only becomes a problem in heavy, driving rain; bag has lasted another 4 years.

Is there an acceptable replacement for my beloved Dee Dog?After more than a decade of hard riding, both bicycle & motorcycle, my Dee Dog is being held closed by nothing but duct tape & love. Time for a replacement I suppose; the large custom messenger looks nice but seems incomplete. There appear to be no options for compression straps or a heavy bottom boot. I feel that these features were essential to the exemplary performance I have witnessed from my cherished Dee Dog and lament their disappearance from the Bag Builder. Is there a bag that will live up to the high standards set by Dee Dog ( I really need those compression straps)? If so, I stand ready to purchase.
