    labelgal
Dealing with them is a nightmare. They are the most coorporate company I have ever dealt with in the music industry. My label manager there is a total brain dead automaton. He knows nothing about dance music, he cannot think for him self at any stage, he has no communication skills. Its not difficult;t to get your material on there, whats extremely difficult is to get them to take notice of you and promote your releases in their emails and on their site. Getting a banner is almost impossible unless your deadmaus

DO YOUR SELVES A FAVOUR AND WORK WITH OTHER PORTALS AND EVENTUALLY THE DENVER OUTFIT WILL HAVE TO PLAY BALL AND ACT DECENT. If your a buyer of music avoid them and go elsewhere. Try Juno for example, thers nothing there you cant get and the interface is a lot better than that sorry excuse for an interface beatport have.

Other portals are gearing up to tackle them on. I cant say how I know this but they are hated in the industry for the damage their doing. That damage they do is because the simply promote electro house constantly as if thats all dance music is about. For example teh Hard house scene is really growing fast in the UK again but they just cant see it. That will eventually be their downfall, they cannot react to changes fast.

All I want is to see them get some decent competition because they are acting not only like a distributor they are acting like A+R. Someone there decides if your music is good and thats not right. Their a distributor, their staff dont have the finger on the magic pulse.

AN example I was in Miami in March and was with a few of the staff at the pool party. It was amazing to see how brain dead and deaf some of them were. A track was played (I cant say which or I out my self) and I said to this girl who is high up at beatport that track is going to go massive. She stared at me blankly, then i asked the guy she was with and he to stared at me like I was a nutter,. I told them again it will go massive and I became a annoyed they couldnt hear that it was and is an amazing tune. It was very revealing to see their faces of uncertainty I mean they couldnt even hear it was a decent track never mind a great one. But it says everything about some of the staff there, They just dont know what is good and what isnt. They have a fear of putting their neck out. Tahst why they are so corporate as well. I imagine working there could be quite restrictive and totally political correct. They certainly dont seem to encourage staff to think for them selves.

About 3 months later the track was number 3 in their front page chart, but not before Juno had the track for a month. The only reason beatport took it was when the small label that signed it showed them the download figures. THAT tells you everything you need to know about beatport
