I'm using the build from the SB website, and i can reproduce the problem.
When I take files that already has metadata, and add them to Songbird and edit them, then Songbird is inconsistent in saving the meta data to the files.
Album cover-art is always saved correctly, but with various other meta-data this is not always the case.
When I remove an album from my collection, and re-add it Songbird will remember the changes I made to the files the last time, but it's clearly not getting the info from the mp3 files, as no other media player can see the altered data.-

Metadata on half my collection is missing from the files, and only kept in Songbird.
I've recently upgraded to Songbird 1.2.0, and I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it (Linux user).
When I open my files in another player various metadata is missing, such as track numbers, disk number, sometime artist and album info is also missing.
I've spent a lot of time getting my collection just right, and now it seems it's all for nothing.
I need a way to make Songbird export the info, or force a write to file on each mp3-file, making sure the info in Songbird is written to the files. -

It's been a good while since I've heard any news on this now, and this is one of the most important features missing from Songbird.
How far have the work on this come?
I would really love for this to be implemented!
