A comment on the idea "Plurk Mobile: Mute and MAAR" in Plurk:
I noticed that the mobile has been updated and it's fantastic!
And my iPhone was 2.2 until 2 days ago when I finally upgraded to 2.2.1. Mostly because I wanted to deal with jailbreaking while I could before 3.0 comes out. So yes, now the app works, but it took me 3 days to get everything situated on the phone. Which was what I was trying to avoid. – Deinera, on June 06, 2009 04:46

Plurk Mobile: Mute and MAARAlright. Here's the thing. I cannot use the iPhone apps any longer since you guys keep "upgrading" and your one app isn't enough for me to lose everything to jailbreak my phone... again. So, that being said, I've been using the mobile version of the site... which is a thousand times better than it used to be.
Except, you still have yet to give people the ability to mute plurks. I never want to mute an entire person, but sometimes they plurk dumb one word things and really, I don't care to see the 50 responses with a different single word. Mute!! Nope, I have to hunt down a computer to mute them all, or hope that I can find the plurks I care about in the mess.
And, as someone else suggested, the ability to Mark All As Read from the mobile site would be FANTASTIC!
Please guys... mute and MAAR. Please?!-

So then my question becomes, why does the Plurk app work about 50% of the time. Sometimes I click on it and it works perfectly fine, showing all friends, responses, unread, etc. Other times it shows only my plurks with the most recent one being from about 4 days ago?? – Deinera, on March 16, 2009 21:05

Why do I *have* to have 2.2.1? This is annoying as hell.Any way to make the app not be a mandatory 2.2.1 release? I am absolutely not upgrading my phone until I am forced to and what's frustrating is that i can't use this app any longer since it's not bothering to do anything. I can't stand that Apple forces these upgrades and I hate that I'm forced to have to upgrade in order to use this app.

Deinera replied on January 16, 2009 06:12 to the idea "People who ask about Ping through SMS read this." in Ping.fm:
This isn't so bad really, in theory. Except that the standard message is 160 characters, and you waste however many of those on an email address which leaves you with much fewer characters available for the update. While most phones allow you to go "over" and it will break up your text messages into multiples, I'm guessing that the "email text" feature doesn't repiece the messages back into one post.
I think that you should remove or reword the part that says something about SMS messaging because it's deceiving. I look at it, and often spend quite a few minutes looking around the site hoping that there's some mysterious link I've been missing. Tonight I happened to click "help" only to find that it's teetering on "false advertising." I've been on ping.fm for quite some time, but I rarely use it because it's simply not nearly as easy to use the various mobile versions of the site as it would be to simply text it (as you can with Twitter).
I'm glad it's in the works though. I hope it shows up soon. I might start using ping.fm a WHOLE lot more if it does.
Kevin's reply to "People who ask about Ping through SMS read this." was just promoted to the most useful! Deinera and 2 other people think it's one of the best replies.
Sure, it takes time to implement and that is fine, but the front page for Ping.fm specifically states:
Mobile Phone / SMS / MMS
iPhone, iPod Touch or standard mobile phone text messaging.
which is very confusing because I spent 15minutes looking for this option. yes, the service is in beta and I can live with service hiccups, missing features, etc. But this looks like it has been implemented already, which is incredibly confusing.-

Take away the giant friends/fans icons?!?Could you give the option of large friends/fans images? Cause I really HATE them and would like it back to the way it was last night when I last used plurk. Kthxbai!-

Deinera replied on September 01, 2008 22:44 to the idea "Eliminate Karma." in Plurk:
My biggest issue with the karma isn't that it takes so long to get after awhile, but the fact that it takes nearly a week of constant plurking/responding/participating to lose all that karma in less than a day or two. It isn't that I want to "deplurk" as it were, but really, I immediately start to lose karma by almost double what I could ever possibly earn? I don't get the algorithm, and to be honest, I don't care. I think if not get rid of it, at least give us the option of turning it off, or making it invisible.
