Investigate this more... Cellphone companies NEVER make money on the phones they sell. They make money on the contracts that are signed. If they were to constanlty renew your contracts whenever you wanted then you would probably already be at a contract till the year 2020... Whats the worth of a contract you sign if you are not even willing to carry out its full term? Existing customers in ANY cell company can get the iPhone at the reduced price, on the condition that they are eligible to upgrade........ Thats the price to pay to follow technology.... If you go to the apple store to buy the iPhone full price THEY are the ones selling it at 799$, Fido and Rogers are just following... And why are you so upset over not being able to get the iPhone if you clearly think its worthless ....
Leeloo replied on October 24, 2009 18:25 to the question "Why is my bill getting higher when there's no reason it should be?" in Fido:
You really have to wait until your bill comes out. Since you have a credit limit you will always see the variations so its disconcerning. Also you mentioned you downloaded ringtones, I know from experience that this may also charge you for DATA that you use while searching for your tones. It costs 0.03$/kb so just a couple pages can be 15-20$... Also if you did not apply for Online billing there is a charge of 2$ for paper bills.... First bills are always higher coz they have to charge you a month in advance for the service...
Leeloo replied on October 24, 2009 18:15 to the problem "very very poor customer service" in Fido:
Usually companies such as Fido, Telus etc. do not call people for less than 50$. Its not worth it for them. There must have been another amount late for them to call .... I always find that whichever customer service you call if you request something nicely they will help you. The mistake most people make is to call and swear or be impatient, it never gets anything done. This type of situation can happen with any company, Fido is no exception to the rule...(BTW, make SURE they have the right address sometimes even a small mistake wont get your bills delivered. Good Luck!
