To clear your BumpTop scene, right click your tray icon, go to Settings, and click "Reset BumpTop Layout".
Try this if it doesn't help: http://bumptop.com/support/technicalq...

Leon Zavšek reported a problem in BumpTop on November 02, 2009 22:16:
BumpTop doesn't send the arguments to the widgets on startupTo test this, I tried putting the following line in some of my widgets:
ShowMessage ( ParamStr(1) );
They all show blank, instead of the argument, specified in widget.json.
When starting them trough an associated image, they all show the correct argument.
This is the start-up part from widget.json:
"startupApplication" : {
"path" : "sample.exe",
"args" : "startup"
}
As this could be some problem with my code, I tried to test it with a batch file, but this one didn't start at all with BumpTop startup. It worked when launched from an image.
This is the batch file:
echo %1%
pause
This is the start-up part from widget.json:
"startupApplication" : {
"path" : "sample.cmd",
"args" : "startup"
}
When I put an empty argument into "args", it started OK.
In all cases launching from associated image showed the correct argument.

Hey ShadowfoxXXX!
Check out the developers section on my web page - http://bumptop.addict.si/.
You can enter (or upload, if you wish) your widget there.

Leon Zavšek replied on October 29, 2009 22:21 to the problem "Widgets do not work for Win 7" in top widgets:
How often does this happen?
Did you try running BumpTop without any widgets?
Only Clock and Filepreview should be running their processes at all time.
Press ctrl-alt-del and check Windows Task Manager to see if there are any duplicate processes or if any process is using too much ram or cpu.
You can change the file clock-back.png in widget's images folder to get a different clock face, but I'm afraid making better hands will require rewriting entire widget.
If you wish to use your own flash file:
1. copy something.swf to widget directory
2. add a new section in settings.ini:
[something]
url=
(and optionaly width and height)
Videos on the desktop:
I would if I could. :) But BumpTop team has this under consideration.

Does anything changes, if you use different values for coor_fix_x and y ?
What about when you drag the window around?

No, that's a bug. The filename should be filled in automatically. You just need to press enter.
I will try to fix it ASAP. – Leon Zavšek, on October 29, 2009 02:43

Leon Zavšek replied on October 29, 2009 02:20 to the problem "Widgets do not work for Win 7" in top widgets:
For the crashes:
Check the Task manager to see if iPhone.exe or filepreview.exe are running. They should run only when you are using a widget.
righthook.exe must run all the time for filepreview to work, you can suspend the hotkeys or exit righthook from the tray bar (it has a "H" icon).
I uploaded a new version of the File preview. See if it works better.
Leon Zavšek replied on October 28, 2009 02:22 to the problem "Widgets do not work for Win 7" in top widgets:
1. missing "C":
I no longer use a fixed path, so it should work for any drive not just C. Note that it was Administrator before (my windows username) and it's Admin now (your username). So the path is detected, but the first character (C) mysteriously disappears. I wonder what is causing this on your computer but not on my... I'm using XP, by the way. Does this happens every time?
2. install path:
I have seen this behavior before. I double checked all the installations before updating them, so I'm sure pretty sure the issue is with WinRar. Maybe I should use something else... Can you describe how you were using WinRar, before the path was wrong. Did you unpack anything? Did you run any other self-extractables?
3. Chinese words
File preview is still quite experimental. I wasn't going to do much upgrading until the release of BumpTop API, that will allow working without hacks and more reliably.
Final version is planned to support Chinese words in text files. :)
Thanks for all the testing.
