You are right, the yellow dots on http://status.soup.io/ were not detailed enough (they show more info when you hover over them).
I've now made a simple change to the layout that should make the current status more obvious.
Lukas Fittl replied on November 16, 2009 21:26 to the question "Erratic search results" in Soup:
The search function should be working fine, except for the fact that it's missing newer posts (basically everything after the 10th November).
This issue will be fixed as soon as we receive the additional hardware we ordered, which will likely be mid of next week.
If you are just seeing problems with newer posts, everything should be fine in a week.
If there are specific (older) posts that are not found with the search function, please give us examples so we can investigate.
Thanks!
Lukas Fittl replied on November 16, 2009 21:09 to the question "Automatic Import (Custom Feeds) problems" in Soup:
We've temporarily (meaning just for today and tomorrow) disabled the background imports of feeds. This is required for a database migration and we put a quick hint up on http://status.soup.io/ (though I have to admit that's not enough).
If you've been having problems before last night, could you describe them in more detail?
As far as we know there are no known issues with feed imports, apart from the temporary delay that I described above.
Lukas Fittl replied on November 16, 2009 07:26 to the problem "Servers overloaded, please refresh this page." in Soup:
Hmm. That shouldn't be happening.
We're running a database migration in the background that makes the whole system a little slower (also visible with the response times on http://status.soup.io/), but it shouldn't affect reachability.
Where are you getting this error? On your own page, or on the /friends page?

Unfortunately we can't offer a good solution to this right now.
Grabbing all posts of a user is a very database-intensive operation, and it's not easy to optimize this.
The only alternative would be to turn this feature off altogether, which I don't think is a good idea (right now it's only failing for a small number of people).
We will get around to fix this, but I can't promise anything, we're very tight on resources.
Lukas Fittl replied on November 04, 2009 16:16 to the question "changing font colour=?" in Soup:
To change your font color, open the admin panel (small mechanical icon on the botton left), go to "Design".
Then click on the 3rd and/or 4th color (depending on your selected theme), and click around in the color selector to choose another color.
Your Soup will automatically show a preview of the new color selection.
In the end, click "Save customization" to save the selected colors.

Lukas Fittl replied on September 30, 2009 12:36 to the question "Custom Template. How to?" in Soup:
The "custom" skin is for the people that want to do complex modifications using CSS.
In case you only want to change colors, simply select one of the 4 pre-made skins, select the colors, then save.
Changing the background image is not easily possibly right now (you need to do it using Custom CSS), but it's on our list of things to implement.
Let me know if this answers your question.

Wait, and it still looks broken when you go to http://log.sofanaranja.com/ ? This doesn't make any sense.
Could you try http://log.sofanaranja.com/?dummy and see if this looks good?
Lukas Fittl replied on September 30, 2009 10:46 to the problem "vimeo import broken" in Soup:
Looks like this solved itself, I'm guessing our feed importing queue was overloaded at that point.
Please not that imports are always imported with the original creation date which means you might not see them without scrolling down a lot.
The last one is ART!!!, which is also on Soup: http://qubodup.soup.io/post/20132834/ART

Could you open http://log.sofanaranja.com/appearance... in your Safari, and paste the output here?
Looks like this is a caching problem with Safari, I'm aware of some cases where Safari doesn't clear the cache, even when you do "Empty Cache..." (I'm guessing because of concurrency problems).
