So that depends on how hotmail stores your data and how your email was previously configured.
see http://www.getsatisfaction.com/mozill... on how to configure Thunderbird to use hotmail.

Profiles are located in %APPDATA%, see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Folder for how to find it depending on the version of windows you have.
For your second question you need to launch Thunderbird with the -profilemanager option, see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Man... for how to do it, replace Firefox with Thunderbird and it will work.

You will need one extension - and she might not do all the things you want. FiltaQuilla is the name of the extension. http://mesquilla.com/extensions/filta... for more information.

A comment on the question "how to add an option in right click mouse menu" in Mozilla Messaging:
You'll find plenty of documentation on developer.mozilla.org as for source code any extension is provided with the sources. have a look on add-ons.mozilla.org to find a few. – Ludovic Hirlimann, on October 22, 2009 10:20
Ludovic Hirlimann replied on October 22, 2009 07:28 to the question "how to add an option in right click mouse menu" in Mozilla Messaging:
Well this is a *very* open question.
If you mean customizing the app - you can't except by adding an extension.
If your question is about creating a new item in a menu then look at the source code of extension already doing it. There are plenty out there that do it. You'll need some knowledge of xul/js/css.
If I didn't answer your question can you please try to explain what you are trying to achieve ?
Ludovic Hirlimann replied on October 21, 2009 08:23 to the question "Auto-Sync Email to Local Folder" in Mozilla Messaging:
This is a new feature in Thunderbird 3.0 so if you use B4 it will do it automatically.
In Thunderbird 2 you need to subscribe to folder to have them for offline reading. Right click on you account and choose subscribe. Then select the folders you want synched.
My advice would be to switch to RC1 one when it comes out. (b4 as a bug that is now fixed wrt to exchange and autosync)
Ludovic Hirlimann replied on October 21, 2009 08:12 to the question "how to setup newsreader subscription for usenet newsgroup?" in Mozilla Messaging:
Easy - from the file menu choose to create a new account. Choose News. Enter your email and name.
In the news/nttp server enter support.cartweaver.com. press continue etc .. and then close the account manager.
In your list of email account you should now have a one liner called support.cartweaver.com click on it. In the right part of the pane click on Manage newegoup subscriptions. This will give you a list of topic you want to read write about :
* asp
* coldfusion
* ...
Click on one line to do the selection - then press ok. Download the articles and read.
Is that clear ? if not please tell us what you could do and what you couldn't.
