Lijit FAQ replied on April 18, 2008 18:56 to the question "What exactly is the Re-Search feature?" in Lijit:
When a search brings someone to your blog, Lijit's Re-Search feature takes the query they used, re-performs that search through your Lijit search engine (hence the name "Re-Search"), and shows the top few results in a special display on your blog. You can pick the display location -- either at the top of your blog or just above your Lijit Search Wijit.
On your stats page, Lijit shows the number of times Re-Search has been displayed in the "Number of Searches" bar graph and in the "Stats Summary" box. (Note that if you have Re-Search disabled, we'll still show the data, but label it as "potential Re-Searches" so you can see what you missed!)
Exceed your searchers' expectations with Re-Search. Give them what they came for...and more!

What exactly is the Re-Search feature? After checking my Lijit stats, I see numbers for the total number of Re-Searches and my top
Re-Search term. I'm confused and don't know what Re-Search is or what it does. What exactly is the Re-Search feature?
Lijit FAQ replied on April 18, 2008 18:47 to the question "Can I install the Lijit wijit on my hosted wordpress.com blog?" in Lijit:
Sadly, hosted WordPress.com sites are not very widget-friendly and therefore, do not support installation of the Lijit Search Wijit. We will continue our quest to become part of their directory of supported widgets, but until then, you're welcome to set up an account with Lijit and be searched through your Lijit Profile page.
You can add a link from your hosted WordPress.com blog to your Lijit Profile page by following these steps:
1. Log into your WordPress.com account
2. On the main navigation bar, click "Blogroll"
3. From the Blogroll tab's navigation bar, click "Add Link"
4. Enter a name for your link (perhaps something like "Lijit Search" or "Search Me!")
5. Enter the URL for your Profile page in the address field (it will look something like: http://www.lijit.com/users/[insert your username here])
6. Provide a description of your Lijit Search link (perhaps something like, "Lijit's search is great! Try it out!)"
7. Once you've finished filling out the fields, click the "Add Link>>" button and you're done! You should now have a link to your Lijit Profile page on your WordPress.com blog.
We also offer a Lijit badge for those on wordpress.com who want to proudly display that they are Lijit. Email tara [at] lijit [dot] com for more information on how to access the badges.

Can I install the Lijit wijit on my hosted wordpress.com blog?I have a blog that's hosted on wordpress.com. I love the Lijit wijit and want to install it on my blog. How do I go about doing that?
Lijit FAQ replied on April 18, 2008 18:38 to the question "How do I install the wijit on a Typepad advanced or mixed media template?" in Lijit:
In TypePad, set up a TypeList of the "Notes" variety. Paste the Wijit code Lijit provides you into the body of the Note.
(You can access your Wijit code from your Search Wijit page within Lijit. Just click the link that says "Need to install the Wijit?" beneath the "Save Wijit Settings" button, then copy the snippet of code from the right-hand side of the page.)
Once you've copied and pasted the Wijit code into your TypeList Note, use the tools within TypePad to arrange the Wijit's location as desired and – voila – you now have your very own Lijit Search Wijit. It's as easy as that.

How do I install the wijit on a Typepad advanced or mixed media template?I'm using Typepad as my blogging platform and have an advanced (or mixed media) template. After signing up for a Lijit account, I was given the code to install the wijit but can't figure out where to put it. Help!
Lijit FAQ replied on April 18, 2008 18:29 to the question "How do I get rid of unwanted search terms in my popular searches tag cloud?" in Lijit:
Go to your Lijit Profile page and click the "Filter displayed searches" link, found underneath your Popular Searches cloud. Enter individual terms or combinations of terms, separated by commas. Once you've created your filter, it will take immediate effect on existing displayed searches, as well as keep future searches using those terms from displaying.

How do I get rid of unwanted search terms in my popular searches tag cloud? The tag cloud of popular searches under my Lijit wijit shows a few terms that I don't want the whole world to see. Is there any way to filter some of these terms so that I don't have to see them anymore?
