I had the same problem. Macbook Pro can connect to home network but not the internet. It started out with the clock screwing up when the battery died.

Fix: I unplugged my airport extreme (did not reset) for 1 minute, then I used an ethernet to connect to the Macbook Pro, clicked on Safari, allowed outside connection, and it seems to be working. I even closed out and restart. So I hope the problem is fixed now.

Shocker: I can't believe that Apple wants to charge for the 3 year protection plan to troubleshoot this problem, when it seems like a prevalent issue.
