I keep getting friend requests from new users that read: "Since you protect your tweets, you need to either approve or deny this request. You can do this by visiting

When I click the link, it takes me to "Sorry, you can't access this the way you've tried."



But, my tweets are not protected ("Protect my tweets" is NOT ticked).

I've searched through Help, Support and here, and although there are similar questions, none are quite the frustrating conundrum I'm experiencing.

What is the answer? The system 1st thinks my account is private, then behaves as it should for a public one?

How do I accept follows from new users?
