One other thing, which may be of some help. I have tried as hard as possible to break it using Iceweasel, but can't - It seems to be a Windows only problem (but across multiple PC's and connections, and operated by different users)

I've taken a look at this before - It doesn't seem that the space is anything like taken up - See attached screen shot - At any one time, there seems to be no more than 20k in my entire shared space, and I tried increasing the space for the Widgetbox flash to 1Mb

Any further thoughts or info I can give?

The issue seems to be once you have viewed the widget a few times. First logon of the day, everything is fine. Surf a few pages that have the widget on, and a few pages on, maybe between page 3 and 6, suddenly you just get the swirl. The widget itself has loaded, and can be seen in Firebug, but the setHelperStarted event doesn't seem to fire.

A live example is http://mymission2.com - If you surf around the site a bit, suddenly the widget loader just hangs. It's not just this site, but any site that the widget is installed on.

The attached shows the state of the widget after some significant time. You can see that the content has loaded. Hope this helps
