The Tumblr's discuss feature is one way to do it but personally I find it quite noisy. IMHO soup should not include inline comments for that reason and implement an integration with Jabber (xmpp) for commenting. That would be pretty neat. Giving the opportunity to reply to a comment in our IM instantly and establish a contextual conversation with other souper's fully logged on our soup ;)

Stoweboyd has a good point, that shouldn't be too hard to add?
Soup is competing with Friendfeed, but I like it better because the product is WAY better looking and customizable. Steve, have you checked out streem.us? You can comment, but you can't pull in every feed ("pipe"). http://streem.us/hdunce

I would to.. Just needs to be non intrusive.. I mean, you can have a link "comments (4)" or something and clicking on it would send you to the single post page with all the comments expanded.
A soup is a microblog so it shouldnt be "comment centered" but I think it should have that option, maybe you could add it in the "options" drawer?

It's neither a bug or a feature, you're simply doing it wrong ;-p
Assuming the rule quoted above is correct: Look at the source of your soup and check _all_ .css files that are linked in. The one you can edit should be specified last and therefore overwrite rules in earlier ones, but note that more general selectors do not overwrite more specific ones. Therefore, check every rule that could be affecting your images. There could be one saying ".post img { ..." or something like that; simply copy that selector and specify your own rule for it in your skin.
