LLBwwb started following the idea "So is it all “over” for SU Groups?" in StumbleUpon.
Judefa's reply to "Why is the decidedly less friendly new SU called "more social"?" was just promoted to the most useful! LLBwwb and 2 other people think it's one of the best replies.
Tks Charles.
There's no denying they're in cutback mode.
I have heard from so many people who are pissed off with it -- people who haven't posted to GS at all but have no desire to use V4 from what they've seen.
I am honestly surprised when I find people praising or defending it -- but they don't really say why, and I hate to say I tend to assume they either don't use the advanced features or are simply keen to stay in good with the support staff.
Which indicates VERY LOW SELF-ESTEEM and perhaps the need to get a job or a new hobby.
I would just like to take this opportunity to thank SU though for providing me with a lot of entertainment, information, friends, including in real life, writing buddies and highly addictive diversion over three years (plus).
It has been magic and totally compelling . . . but the writing was on the wall with mass recruiting, changes introduced in V3, the grid format, the mass share feature and basically a push for traffic of any sort, not to mention the SEO business.
The signs were all there in V3; just not so brazenly so.
So for many of us it is not a good match any more, and this is certainly the biggest turning point I have seen since I joined.
Not a major disaster; I dare say it will still have its uses for me in an AOL Messenger sort of way.

LLBwwb replied on December 06, 2009 01:45 to the problem "Recent Activiity Layout in V4 sucks." in StumbleUpon:
I don't like being used. Maybe if us bloggers, stop posting and stumbling,SU will notice? They are basing how great V4 is,on how many times we click that button. If we stop clicking and blogging,my guess is,they see a big, spike down,in their numbers. Maybe they don't listen to us,but will listen to their numbers??
LLBwwb replied on December 06, 2009 00:59 to the question ""Is subscribed to" shows small static subset of subscriptions" in StumbleUpon:
I agree with ID,that this is NOT minor. I still remember my first nite,on SU. I had no idea how it worked or what to do. I found someone, from my state, and subscribed. Then saw avi's of who he subbed to and clicked them. That's how I made some of my best friends. And those people taught me everything. I didn't even know there were FAQ. If I had not seen avi's and chatted with people,I would have never returned to SU.
Same thing on Tumblr now. I'm new,and click avi's to look at a site. If I like it,I click follow. Then ,so many stumblers have joined,I made my blog, show the Tumblroll,of who I follow. With all the stumbler avi's showing, now we have all found each other. So I think it is very important, that avatars show in the panel, and that they be static.
Glad, may have a point, why we see those same 3-4 avatars, all over.
This is a very important feature.I would like to see it fixed and static, like 2 months ago:(
LLBwwb replied on December 05, 2009 02:17 to the problem "No double arrow shown for mutual friends and subscribers" in StumbleUpon:
I'm bringing this up again,as I asked this question over two months ago, when it was still in beta. It was marked as solved almost as fast as I posted the question. Since then, this question has been asked,or reported as a bug,in too many separate threads for me to count. Thus,my original report got buried, with only 7 people, saying they have this problem too.
Now we all know ,we no longer have friends. But we have no way of knowing when we are on the page of a mutual, whatever ya call them. Other then what has been suggested here, could we have an icon,to let us know we are on a mutual/friends page? Or maybe have our own avatar, show up in their *subscribing to*, panel, like it used to be back in V2? Maybe someone has a better idea then me,but I would just like to know. when I am on a friends' site.Just anything that would make V4 easier and less confusing.-

LLBwwb reported a problem in StumbleUpon on December 04, 2009 20:54:
GetSatisfaction is mass emailing the same posts.GetSatisfaction is mass emailing the same post 10+ times! I just signed on to my email and saw 208 emails from GS. I thought something earth-shattering,or important must have happened on V4. As I started reading and moving to the next email, they are all the same post, from the same person. I didn't count, since there are so many.It looks like it is spitting out the same post over 10 times, and sending it to my email. I would assume I'm not the only person getting mass emailed by GS,but don't see it reported here yet.
Plus stop it!-

@Judefa,you have been so, spot on,with all of your comments here. Being stuck in bed, sick as a dog,and getting 188 emails from GS,was a real eye opener. I just don't understand all this sucking up.Yes,you worded it, much better then me. LOL But the same people, that hate it in other groups,on their blogs and in PMs,sucking up here, just makes no sense to me at all. I think to myself,if they would have come out the 1st week, and said what they thought, reported bugs, and problems, like so many of us did.... well we wouldn't be begging for what we used to have. SU would have heard us all report the same feedback and bugs that 1st week. Now we are in count down mode, and look what we are stuck with:(
Yes,I will still use SU in some way. To stumble my Tumblr site,to people looking for me,and to message. It's just a shame to lose the SU I used to love.
A comment on the idea "Bring back the Tag Cloud" in StumbleUpon:
Oh Monica,my comments, were not meant to you at all.I see how overwhelming and stressful, this site can be. My heart has gone out to you many of times. You are doing a great job, considering all that is going on. It's V4,I have the problem with, not you:)) – LLBwwb, on December 03, 2009 23:11
LLBwwb replied on December 03, 2009 21:57 to the idea "Bring back the Tag Cloud" in StumbleUpon:
I've been sick as a dog,for 3 days and have not checked in here. Then I got 188 emails on questions I follow. I saw them say,we are getting the tag cloud back, But I agree with Peter B. I have already stopped wasting my time posting in here. I'm sick of begging for what we already had, that they took away. Just following it in emails for two days, really shines a light on what goes on here. The suck ups, are sickening to read.I delete those. The people who know what they are talking about ,get picked on and unfriended. Those that make good points are ignored.
There is nothing like being sick,to make one see the light. I am not begging or wasting my time anymore. I don't believe anything ,SU tells us. I'll believe it when I see it. To me, V4 is plain unusable. I'm so thankful me,and 1000's of others have now found Tumblr. The real thanks, goes to the person, who told all of us about Tumblr, and has kept us all together on that site, where we are all still friends, and love it there. I won't mention her name but she knows who she is. I'll stay with SU,and wait to see if I can bear to look at V4 on my screen everyday. If I still can't stand it,at least I now, have a new home. I love it and am already addicted. I love SU too,but it is no longer the SU ,I had so much fun on and used to be addicted to.And to those who want to call me a whiner or other names,go right ahead. I refuse to be a suck up ,here, then complain all over the place, once you leave here. I say what I think, here or in private.I refuse to beg.If I don't like something I won't use it. They asked *us* for feedback from day one. They don't want bug reports or feedback. I have better things to do with my time. Like go back to bed and try to get well now.

LLBwwb replied on December 01, 2009 07:00 to the idea "I don't like the new interface" in StumbleUpon:
@Charles,re:using and getting used to a new site. Every single one of us here, and in other threads has now joined Tumblr.(I'm sure this is no secret to SU since they check clicks to measure success, and see how many are Tumblr sites) None of us know what we are doing on Tumblr, but we are sure learning fast. it's simply, fun and social, like SU *used* to be. I'm already addicted to it,and so are many others. So,if we could get addicted to a new site so fast, then I say the problem is with V4. We all love SU,but V4,is just unusable for lots of us. I've given up on SU,and GS is just a waste of time. I'm just posting to my friends,as I know SU could care less what I want:(
