A comment on the problem "Podcast subscriptions won't load" in Songbird:
No mention of it in the roadmap or schedule for Isan, but the release schedule for Jackson 5 has it listed (see http://wiki.songbirdnest.com/Releases... ). Pretty early to tell if this is a guaranteed priority, but I sure hope it makes that release. – Logan, on March 27, 2009 10:46
Logan reported a problem in Songbird on March 04, 2009 08:19:
Hangs/glitches when quickly changing a library searchI've found that I frequently have hangs (of atleast 30 seconds, average of 90) when searching a Library of 30,000 songs on both OSX 10.5.6 and Vista SP1 (running all the 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 nightly clients). I've pretty much narrowed this down to being an issue that happens when I have something already searched, I highlight the search, and then type in something else to replace it. Almost everytime I follow this method I will get a hang. However, if I highlight the search, erase it, and then search something else, Songbird will usually perform without a hitch.
Also, these hangs can have weird effects on playback. If a song finishes playing during the hang the next song will not begin to play, however when Songbird unfreezes it will be partway into whatever song was at the top of the search results (which are almost always incomplete searches because Songibrd tries to search and hangs before I can even finish typing). One time I did manage to complete the whole search query before the hang began, and when it unfroze it reported that it was playing the first song of the search results but it was actually playing the next song from the previous search results.
And it's not an add-on issue because I completely erased my previous Songbird install and still got the same problem with a fresh install.
I'd greatly appreciate it if some representative or atleast someone more knowledgeable about bug reporting than myself could enter this into Bugzilla because I'd rather not spam up Bugzilla with my own badly formed bug report.

Using the 1.0 and 1.1b1&b2 clients on a Mac (2.16 GHz, 2GB RAM, OSX 10.5.6) I'm seeing huge hangs when searching my library (30,000 or so songs). It's pretty inconsistant, sometimes a library search will only take a couple seconds and other times it will hang for 30 - 90 seconds and completely lock up the program. I can't seem to find a pattern for when it will take a long time, but it's becoming a headache trying to use this program on a daily basis.
Logan replied on March 02, 2009 11:47 to the idea "Merge the FLAC + MP3 of the same song/album in library." in Songbird:
I agree that something needs to be done about this. Even just having the different copies of the album show up separately rather than intermixed would be great. Currently if I search for an artist and I have two copies of the albums they will show up together so that the album would end up playing like this: Track 1 FLAC, Track 1 MP3, Track 2 FLAC, Track 2 MP3, etc. This can be remedied by making a smart playlist of files with a bitrate > 500 and searching for the artists in there, but it would be nice to have some integrated functionality to deal with a situation of multiple file types so that it doesn't require switching to and from a FLAC (or other format) playlist when there are multiple copies of an album.-
