Because Loopt is meant for use as a social network rather than a tracking or navigation service, the location accuracy can vary based on where you are and the device you’re using. Loopt first attempts to get a GPS position, but if it can’t do so, it will attempt to location you using cell tower technology. Neither of these will be as accurate as dedicated GPS solutions like a navigation device, but they should be able to place you in a general vicinity (a few hundred feet or up within to a few miles).

If your location isn’t updating every hour or so, there are a few things you can try:

1)While in Loopt on the phone, go to the Settings menu. You should see “Automatic Location Updates.” Turn this On if it is Off, or toggle it between Off and On to see if that will help.
2)Turn your phone off and then back on to refresh the Loopt session. After doing so, walk out to a clear area and launch Loopt on the phone. It should update your location after a minute or two.
3)If you location still isn’t updating please let us know by sending an email to support@loopt.com with your carrier (Boost, Sprint, Nextel, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, MetroPCS), mobile phone number, and the model of phone you’re using.

Unfortunately, we can't modify your date of birth for security reasons. You will need to re-register your account by going to www.loopt.com and clicking on Get Loopt Now. You can just register with the same information as before (but correct date of birth). Your Loopt contact list will not be kept if you re-register for a new account. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Unfortunately, we only support the iPhone on the AT&T network.

If you want to be able to see where you friends are at, they also need to get on Loopt. You can simply invite them using their phone number while you are in Loopt. Once they accept your invitation, you should be able to see where they are at. If you still have more questions, email us at support@loopt.com, and we will be happy to help you out.

I am sorry to hear that, we do not support the Samsung Instinct yet, but we are working to support more phones in the future. Be sure to check our website at www.loopt.com periodically for updates.

I apologize for the difficulties you have encountered.There are some updates that is being made to the w385 on the boost network. Please try back by the end of this week, it should work for you in a couple of days. Let us know if it still doesn't work by next week.
