    Lori
Hi Cathy: I ended up taking Thomasville to Small Claims Court because they refused to take the chairs back, which were in brand new condition, and this after I had an independent laboratory technician come to my home and write up a report. I won the case and they finally came out to take them back last week. I am now waiting for the credit to appear on my charge account. This process took 8 months. Have you asked the merchant if you can return the chair? I think most merchants would take the chair back. I returned a stinky area rug to Home Goods that was over a year old and they took it back no questions asked. You can also request from the merchant the Materials Saftey Data Sheet (MSDS) which gives a chemical breakdown on what is on the chair and forward that to your local Indoor Air Quality Department at the Environmental Department and they can review it for you to determine the cause of the odors. I had done that also. Let me know how you make out.

    Stinky leather furniture
Has anyone purchased leather furniture from Thomasville? I ordered two club style "Montreal swivel quick ship" ready made chairs (made in China) and the leather stinks up my whole house and can be smelled 40 feet away and even outside when my windows are open. Thomasville insists that it is normal and I can't live with the smell. They refuse to take them back when they were only 4 months old, under the warranty period, and I am taking them to Small Claims Court as result. They are and look brand new, and have been stored in a spare room upstairs until this is resolved. They know that they are in new condition. What a nightmare.

File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in Thomasville, NC and in the location of the store where you bought it. That is what I am doing plus taking them to Small Claims Court. – Lori, on November 14, 2008 17:45
