Thanks guys for the response.............. I may have missed it, but if it isn't there I think it would be helpful to make it clear what pbwiki's defn of "public" is.................... not knowing about this feature has caused me significant incovenience and lost vital time on a community project I am running

yeah.. there is no direct pbwiki equivalent of a wiki setup like wikipedia... although there are a number of work around..

Although we don't suggest it because it makes a wiki vulnerable to vandalism, in a 1.0 wiki, some owners publish the invite key on the FrontPage so people can log themselves in.

PBwiki's idea of "public" differs from that of Mr. Webster. When they say "public", it means anyone can read it without logging in. You still have to grant them access to write or comment.
