Lauren Herda asked a question in Pandora on November 03, 2009 22:51:
Rating songs democraticallyWe love to listen to Pandora here at the office (a large, open loft) because we can mold a playlist that appeals to everyone in the room and still brings in new songs we haven't heard.
To vote a song up or down, however, we need to get up from our workstations and walk over to the central computer. Is it possible to somehow remotely rate what's playing on a Pandora user account, so that each of us at the office could vote yay or nay on the currently-playing song? Perhaps just a little Dashboard widget, or something similar?

If I'm not mistaken, you do need some sort of DNS on your local network to point the computers to one another.. otherwise Computer A won't know that http://testsite.site/ is on Computer B. Yes?
As far as I know, Bonjour simply announces the existence of the service to other machines on the local network.

Symbolic links as local pathsI keep old versions of the PHP frameworks and CMSs that I work with in a library on my dev machine (framework-1.3/, framework-1.4b/, etc), and I use a symlink to point to the current version of the framework (framework-latest/).
In VHX, when I set a virtual host to the framework's directory, the link is followed to the folder of the specific version, defeating the purpose of the symlink.
Could VHX instead respect the symlink when writing the entry for the virtual host?

I've noticed this seems to have something to do with not having the site's local preview URL set as something different than what you are actually previewing with... perhaps you're using "localhost" and you defined the site's preview URL as the computer's name or IP? I found myself having to Opt+Click Refresh over and over again until I realized this.-

Lauren Herda reported a problem in Panic Inc on December 31, 2008 17:44:
Coda isn't playing well with others' working copiesWhen creating a new site, Coda doesn't recognize that existing folders are SVN working copies. Thus, Coda's source control only works with working copies that have been checked out by Coda.
I sometimes use Cornerstone to check out working copies only to find I have to trash them and use Coda to do it. Is this on purpose?-

Integration of Safari's inspection window into Coda?Would it be practical to use WebKit/Safari's built in inspector pane in lieu of Coda's less feature-rich JS console & DOM inspector? Perhaps folding-in Coda's console.log support? It's already possible to use the pane in Coda... but I suspect there would be a better way to integrate it? Just a thought! :-)

Lauren Herda replied on October 14, 2008 02:03 to the idea "Correlate PayPal spending details to other accounts." in Mint.com:
Well, most of my PayPal transactions happen using a credit card via PayPal, so when the charge shows up, it shows up in my bank transactions. The problem is that many of the details of the transaction aren't known by the bank (beyond the amount and date). I just thought it'd be cool if Mint could take PayPal histories (which have more info about the transactions) and correlate them to transactions that show up from the bank.

Correlate PayPal spending details to other accounts. It'd be nice if Mint could correlate PayPal histories to spending histories in other accounts, so that there's more information available in Mint about what PayPal transactions were for.-

A comment on the idea "Please disable caching in Coda's live preview!" in Panic Inc:
Wow, quick response! I've had intermittent trouble with "Reload" / Cmd-R in Coda; I spent a good 5 minutes earlier today trying to figure out why I couldn't see my changes only to realize I was seeing a cached copy.
I guess can't rule out a loss of my sanity, though. :-P – Lauren Herda, on July 29, 2008 05:43

Please disable caching in Coda's live preview!Coda's live preview mode seems to cache the pages I'm working on (as Safari/WebKit do normally), which ends up confusing the crap out of me. Since there's no easy way to clear the cache from inside Coda (that I know of), I have to open up Safari or WebKit to do it. It'd be really nice if Coda just didn't cache stuff (or had an option to disable caching).
