I made a suggestion about making name filtering optional. If you support it, it might happen: Link here
LT replied on June 28, 2009 19:12 to the question "Is there a way to remove the "Genre" filter pane?" in Songbird:
First of all, which media view are you using? If you're talking about the filter view. Then there is a temporary replacement for Stevo's filter editor add-on you can get it here
If you are talking about the regular list view then perhaps restart songbird and right click the filter again.

A comment on the idea "Album art media view ideas" in Songbird:
I've been a fan of this topic for a while, and I think it just hit me that this particular feature, the expandable stacks view could have some cool features. I think it would be good is one click on a stack expanded only that stack. that way you could see that artist's individual albums. It could also show how many tracks are in each album (just a number in parenthesis after the album name?) and clicking on an individual album will play just that album. There could be a play button on a stack to play only that artist, and then a full expand button to expand all of the stacks.
I don't know if you had already considered any of these, but I would love that view. – LT, on June 28, 2009 19:02

I WANT IT!
That would be great. It really helps when songbird falls out of the nest and starts wigging out. I'd also like the ability for a 'backup' profile. Where once your profile is made, there's an option to create a duplicate profile with the same add-ons/settings named "Profile-name (Backup)" and that way, if rebuilding it still won't solve the problem. You can have a backup working profile. But this is just a last resort because rebuilding seems brilliant.-

LT shared an idea in Songbird on June 25, 2009 23:39:
User selected alphabet filteringFor those who haven't noticed, Songbird filters its results and bypasses words such as "A," "The," etc. When they come at the beginning of a song or artist name. I would like the option to select which terms get filtered.
I would like a list with check boxes:
ARTIST:
[X] A
[ ] Los
[X] The
SONG:
[ ] A
[ ] Los
[X] The
something like that. That way user preferences can be set on how artist names and track titles are filtered in the list.
LT replied on June 25, 2009 20:25 to the problem "Managed mode sucks and should be off by default" in Songbird:
It was off by default for me. on all of my profiles. If you read the blog or email songbird sent out it told you what manage mode did and you wouldn't feel so upset.
Also, just as a courtesy. saying 'thank you' right after using several unneeded bad words is pointless. Try looking a bit more professional? just my opinion.

LT replied on June 20, 2009 01:54 to the idea "automatically hide right sidebar" in Songbird:
Could you provide a little more information? Otherwise I'd have to guess...
My inference is that you want the right sidebar to be hidden when you switch to a webpage, but return when you go back to your library pane. All I can say is that's up to the add-on creator who made whatever extension you're using.
It's much like mashTape. that pane hides itself on webpages, but it's nothing Songbird's core has control over.
A comment on the idea "Quick Bookmark Access." in Songbird:
It is, to an extent, but I also want it to apply to the service panes such as playlists and the Downloads pane. – LT, on June 18, 2009 19:33
LT replied on June 18, 2009 19:31 to the problem "Giant Library Error!" in Songbird:
Hello Laura,
I am on Windows Vista Home Premium and was using Songbird 1.1.2, when it happened (Though I am now using the new 1.2 beta).
As for thoughts on what caused it, I have none. I don't think I did anything out of the normal...
Sure, I'll file a bug if it happens again, but I do have some good news. After much fiddling, I was able to make the times display again. You have to listen to thirty seconds of the song for it show up. That really sucked with four hundred songs, but at least they work now.
I understand that Songbird doesn't alter files, but it is my primary program for altering metadata, and now several of my lyrics are missing, which I wish I could remedy, but I guess I'm just going to have to go one song at a time.
I thank you for taking time to help out.
