Lucia set one of Lucia's replies as an official response to "How can I get more variety on my station?" in Pandora
Lucia replied on November 21, 2008 21:28 to the question "How can I get more variety on my station?" in Pandora:
Here's a few things you can do to get more variety on your Pandora station:
1. Add more artist and/or song seeds to your station. This will broaden the playlist.
2. If you've thumbs upped lots of songs, you might want to edit your station and remove some of those thumbs. Thumbs upped songs play more often than non-thumbs upped songs, which can lead to repetitiveness.
3. You can put any song to "sleep" for 30 days. So if you're tired of a song, even a song you like, just click on the menu and choose the option to put that song on the shelf for a month.
4. You can always QuickMix two or more stations together if you're bored with one station.

Lucia replied on November 03, 2008 20:15 to the question "sleep song?" in Pandora:
Hi there -
When you put a song to "sleep" on Pandora, that song will be kept from playing on your stations for 30 days. (there is no way to "undo" this during the 30 days.)
Most people use the "sleep" feature when they're tired of hearing a song, but don't want to ban it forever.
If you like a song and want to hear it and others like it more often, give the song a thumbs up.
If you don't like a song, or it doesn't fit on the station, give it a thumbs down and it will never play again on that station.

Lucia replied on October 28, 2008 18:44 to the question "Pandora avaiability in Canada" in Pandora:
Sorry about that!
Legally offering Pandora services to residents outside of the United States is on our wish list, and we'll work out the details as we can. Audio content streaming regulations differ from country to country, and currently it is only legal for us to stream Pandora in the United States.
Delivery of Pandora is based on proper licensing from the content rights holders - we have always believed strongly in honoring the guidelines as determined by the artists, labels and publishers. In the U.S. there is a federal statute called the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) that provides this license for all the music you hear on Pandora. Unfortunately, there is no equivalent license outside the U.S.
We will post any updates on our blog regarding our ongoing effort to launch in other countries, so please stay in touch. In all honesty, we don't have the resources to pursue licensing arrangements in many countries in the immediate term, but we do have the ultimate goal of being able to offer our service globally. We greatly appreciate your understanding and support!
Best,
Lucia

Lucia set one of Lucia's replies as an official response to "How can I ban "live" music from a Pandora station?" in Pandora
Lucia replied on October 01, 2008 18:36 to the question "How can I ban "live" music from a Pandora station?" in Pandora:
If you don't like listening to live music on Pandora:
First, make sure none of the inputs or thumbs ups on your station say (Live) after the song name.
Next, thumbs down any live songs you get.
Pandora will get the idea that you don't want live music on that station.
(though there isn't a way to completely ban live music from all your stations.)
You can review and edit your station by clicking on the small triangle next to the station name in the left-hand station menu, and then choosing "edit this station".
From there you can check out the artists/songs you've added to the station as seeds and review the songs you marked as thumbs up and down.
Putting a check mark in the box next to one of these, and then clicking on "remove checked" will set the feedback for it back to neutral.
(So the first thing to do is go make sure there's no thumbs ups for (Live) songs on your station, and you find any, delete them!)
Look here (http://blog.pandora.com/faq/index.htm...) for more info on creating and tuning Pandora stations.
I hope that helps!
Oh, also: feel free to seed your station with a studio version of a song you like, and then if you hear the live version, give it a thumbs down. That way you're guaranteed to hear the studio version, but will never have to hear the live version on that station.

Lucia asked a question in Pandora on October 01, 2008 18:30:
How can I ban "live" music from a Pandora station?A lot of listeners, though they like live shows, don't always want to listen to live versions of songs in their Pandora stations.
How does one cut down on the live music in any given station?
