HI,
thanks for the reply but the tree does not align left, the tree is vertical and the viewport needs to be horizontal, if I set the image to show at least 90% openzoom centers it horizontally but when zoomed out I can move the tree up and down slightly, something I want to avoid.
thanks for the quick reply.

p.s. this is the original image of the tree, obviosuly the original is a lot bigger but it shows the ratio.

Luigi Tommaseo replied on July 30, 2009 09:45 to the question "panAndZoomTo a defined zoom level" in Modest Maps:
hey thanks for the answer, I didn't get an email about it and I just found it now.
that helped although I am still confused.
let's say I want to panAndZoomBy from any given zoom to let's say zoom 12 so I could be at zoomLevel 9 or 10 or whatever else and I need to panAndZoomBy to zoom 12 at a given location.
how do I calculate sc?
thanks for your help.

panAndZoomTo a defined zoom levelHI,
I need to be able to pan and zoom a bit like the panAndZoomBy function does but would like to be able to zoom to a chosen zoomLevel.
let's say my map goes from 4 to 7 as zoomLevels I need to able to let's say panAndZoomTo zoom 5, and then go further to say zoom 7.
is it possible to do this in modestmaps? I have been looking at the various zoom and pan functions but can't find one that would take the user to a defined zoom level.
any pointers on how to do this?
thanks in advance

Luigi Tommaseo replied on May 27, 2009 08:34 to the question "overview map, is it possible?" in Modest Maps:
thanks for the reply, I have been playing around with the navigatorwindow and unfortunately it doesn't do what I need.
what I need looks a bit like this:

so the image on the overview it's not even necessarily the real map it just shows an overview of the entire map and the position of the current view in respect to the full image.
anybody knows how I can achieve this?
thanks
Luigi

overview map, is it possible?I was wondering if it was possible to have an overview map a exactly like zoomify does it here http://www.zoomify.com/express.htm
when zoomed in in the zoomify it shows the zoomed out version of the image with a draggable rectangle showing where the user is zoomed in to.
I don't even need the rectangle to be interactive, I just need to show where we are in respect to the full image.
thanks in advance

Luigi Tommaseo asked a question in Modest Maps on May 18, 2009 10:44:
zoomify map provider wrong tileGroupHi,
I am having a problem with a custom map, I have followed the zoomify tutorial and I get missing rows for some reason, I went through the code to find out which rows are missing and traced out the errors.
it goes a bit like this:
london_map/TileGroup11/6-27-31.jpg
london_map/TileGroup12/6-27-32.jpg
london_map/TileGroup12/6-27-33.jpg
london_map/TileGroup12/6-27-34.jpg
Error #2035: URL Not Found. URL: file:///Macintosh/Users/luigi/Dropbox/LondonMuseum/LondonMap/LondonMap/london_map/TileGroup12/6-27-32.jpg
this happens at maximum zoom level only and always the same rows.
the problem is that image 6-27-32.jpg is in fact in TileGroup11 and not tileGroup12, I guess there is something wrong with the way the urls are built in the iteration that happens in the AbstractZoomifyMapProvider file but can't figure out what to do to fix it.
anybody else have had this problem?
thanks in advance
