There was a video playback function i Songbird some time ago, but they removed it because it was really buggy. It's based on the engine used in VLC. So i think if video support will be on the roadmap, it will be as good as in VLC and maybe better than in Miro (not quite sure, because i never installed Miro).

The BitTorrent and YouTube integration though would be very interesting and is surely worth implementing.

The Feed handler in Songbird is currently a bit messed up...

Til now the only possibility is to delete your profile.
Just delete the ##########.default folder.

And what OS are you on?
On Windows it's possible to set the speed of the doubleclick in the system control, maybe you got a speed that's too high?

You could delete your profile (Where is it?).
Just delete the whole ########.default folder and then try to launch Songbird.

No problem.
It looks like the 2.4 files make problems.
Can you take a test file (no matter what ID3 version), copy it and change the tags of one with EasyTag to the other version (2.4-->2.3 or 2.3-->2.4)?
And then try to import ONLY these two files. And look if there are errors or warnings.

You are seeing the errors in the console, aren't you?

Hier gbit es eine Anleitung, wie man GStreamer konfigurieren sollte. (Der Abschnitt "Playback Problems" könnte hilfreich sein).

To the english speakers:

The reporter changed recently to Kubuntu 9.04. Amarok works nice, but if he tries to playback a song in Songbird, there's only a "cracking" from the speakers.
btw: He says he wants to use Songbird unless Amarok is working...

My answer:
Which version, are GStreamer Plugins installed and a link to this. I also told that the paragraph "Playback Problems" could be worth reading.

Yeah, i didn't mention that above, it's written into the console window. I think it's not that easy to write to a file.

Sorry, i forgot something.

Open about:config in a new tab.
Right-click somewhere, click new -->boolean, enter "browser.dom.window.dump.enabled" as name and double-click on true.

Close Songbird.

Launch "Songbird -console" in your "Run"-Window (Win+R).
