Hi guys, we thought we had fixed the bug, but it appears not. We're working on fixing it, please send a request to support or help @ twitter.com with the email subject "invalid pin" and include a short description with any errors, or what procedures you've used or tried to use to get it to work. We should have a fix soon, I'll post all updates in the main thread here:

thanks!

Addenda: My acquaintance uses a prepaid UK O2 tariff - and asks me to say that the "Invalid PIN" problem began within 1 day (not 3) of initial registration. – Eridanus, on July 02, 2008 09:01

This highly frustrating though apparently rare problem resurfaces from time to time.
Thanks, Magic Weaver!
I don't know if Delete and start over? works for everyone with this problem, but a very frustrated Twitter newcomer acquaintance just solved it this way. Details:
- UK user; access via Twitter's international Manx No. +44... (rare lucky UK customer, whose carrier treats the Manx No. as an inland UK No. - but that's off topic here).
- Tweeting from cellphone immediately worked perfectly.
- Three days later, all cellphone tweet attempts returned "Invalid PIN" error.
- Today's Delete and start over? solved the problem: I'm now receiving tweets from my acquaintance's cellphone.

Agreed. A lot of the places from which I want to check in aren't on a street, i.e. the lake, swimming spot, hiking areas, bike path, etc. – e_to_the_m, on June 28, 2008 14:34

Any chance you could drop me a line when that happens or better yet just add another comment right here?

CoPe, you will be able to drag and drop your location on a map very soon. :) – Lesley, on June 12, 2008 15:06

Great! Glad you got it working. You can add a custom label to any lat-long location you use by adding [Insert Name] after your coordinates. Once you are able to click on a map to set your location, it should help with a lot of these types of problems. – Lesley, on June 10, 2008 23:39

Just to be sure I understand correctly...when you signed up you successfully entered your location and were able to create a placemark? Then the placemark got deleted and now your location that you entered before is no longer showing up? – Lesley, on June 10, 2008 23:05
