I'm guessing that you are in the US and use Twitter's 40404 number for SMS text messages.

I've heard that a few US mobile carriers don't support 40404, or do so only after persuasion by the customer. Who is your mobile carrier?

I recently posted more comprehensively on a related problem in another thread; you may find something there.

You can check whether it was verified by going to http://twitter.com/devices. If Twitter is still asking you to send a verification code then your phone number is not yet verified... in which case this Twitter FAQ page for phone verification may help.

I agree with this.

This would be great for musicians who use last.fm, not as much for listening users. Musicians must manage their profiles on several social networks. This could reduce the headache and management time.

I'd want to be able to

- post journal entries
- eventually update multiple calendars (for gigs) across myspace, facebook, ilike/garageband and last.fm
