Hi,
Thanks for the problem report.
Could you restart web browser and try once again? Recently we put in a new server with lot of memory to handle the increased load. If you still get the error can you cut and paste a part of the error so that we can take a detail look.
If it works after restarting web browser please let me know.
Thanks,
Madhuri

Hi,
Thanks for using and supporting Talkshoe. We really appreciate all the help you provide to Talkshoe users via your help shows.
I have just tried calling using Gizmo5 and your pin and I did not have any problem connecting. Perhaps, the problem you faced was due to load or network. If you see this problem next time please send us the SIP log. That will help us to investigate the problem.
Thanks,
Madhuri
Madhuri replied on November 25, 2008 10:51 to the idea "Connecting to talskshoe via SIP without dialing the cast iD and PIN." in TalkShoe:
It is not possible to implement something like sip:52023*1472580363@sip.talkshoe.com since our bridge vendor does not support it. The bridge does accept talkcast id and pin via SIP SUBJECT header and thats what shoephone does, so with shoephone there are no dtmf issues and no additional effort of putting in talkcast id and pin.
In a sip phone like Gizmo we have not seen any DTMF issue so you should not have any trouble connecting to the talkcast via Gizmo as well.

Hi,
Regarding Shoephone on Intel based Mac: Can you send me your talkshoe0.log file? Please send the log file at the address madhurip'at' talkshoe.com.
I will be able to analyze the problem after going through talkshoe0.log file. This file should be in //Applications/TalkShoe/Logs directory.
Thanks,
Madhuri

Madhuri replied on September 22, 2008 11:48 to the question "Streaming issues & More" in TalkShoe:
Hi Tristan,
I am very sorry for the delay in getting back. Many users are able to listen to the Talkshoe stream without any problem. I am thinking it is something specific to your environment. At the same time, I am puzzled that you are not able to listen to the stream from work as well as home.
- When you try from work and/OR home are you trying from the same PC?
- Do you have a firewall on your PC which could prevent receiving data?
- Are you able to listen to any other stream from any other website? If yes, then please provide me an example URL of the stream that you are able to listen to from other website.
Thanks,
Madhuri
Madhuri replied on September 18, 2008 02:20 to the problem "VOIP, via SIP, on Linux, stopped working this past Sunday" in TalkShoe:
Hi,
What IP address do you connect to? The only change in the Talkshoe system has been addition of more PSTN ports and that should not affect your case.
Does "Ekiga" generate log? If it does then send me the logfile, which would give me some indication of what is the problem. You can send the log file to me at the email address, madhurip@talkshoe.com.
Thanks,
Madhuri

Hi,
Thanks Tristan for reporting. It is good to get the feedback. It could be something specific to your connection.
- Have you ever been able to listen to the stream, or you have always had problem?
- When you had problem listening to the stream, were other participants in the talkcast able to listen to the stream?
Could you send me the talkcast id, the time that you tried to listen to, your user id and external ip (if you know) when you had problem? I will check the logs.
Also, next time you see this problem please send mail as soon as possible so that I will try to join if I am online and can check live.
Thanks,
Madhuri

Hi,
My earlier question about Episode id and time was for Hatton.
I know your show id and time since I have analyzed logs for your show.
As I mentioned to you in my earlier reply the problem you (SolePrioprietor) saw was related to bug in Internet explorer (I think). As per the log, there were issues in stream access only from IE and there is a bug in IE related to this.
So, next time you see this please suggest users to use Firefox or some other browser and let me know.
Thanks,
Madhuri

Is "East Coast Conservative podcast", episode id 135523 your show in which you had problems?
Rebuffering messages are normal depending on the network condition. If you had a perfect network where packets were supplied at a constant good rate such that buffer gets filled up, then you would not see rebuffering messages. Before stream is played, the player fills the buffer with packets and only when buffer is filled upto certain level it starts playing stream . If you do not receive packets because of the network issues then you would see rebuffering message.
Do you always see this issue? How many listeners reported this issue?
I will check network bandwidth at the Talkshoe end to verify there were no bottlenecks at that end of the network.
Thanks,
Madhuri

Hi,
I have analyzed all the logs, and all the information. I think there was nothing wrong with streaming or the servers. As per the website log I see some requests coming from Internet Explorer, are failing. There is a known bug with IE. I have a feeling some users were hitting that IE bug.
Next time you see this problem, please suggest users to try other browsers such as firefox and please let me know the results. If even after changing the browser people see this problem then, if possible, please report immediately. If I am online, I will try to participate live in your show, so that I can analyze it further.
Thanks,
Madhuri

Madhuri replied on August 07, 2008 17:27 to the question "Streaming issues & More" in TalkShoe:
Hi,
Could you please provide more details on what exact streaming issues you had?
- Did the streaming start after you dialed in?
- Were all the users not able to listen to the stream at all till 10.15 pm? or some users were able to listen to the stream and some users were not able to listen to the stream.
- Is the main issue long time taken for users to hear the stream/show? Were they eventually able to hear the stream?
- The time taken to hear the stream would depend on individuals network as well as Talkshoe network (bandwidth). Did all the users face this issue?
If you have any more details please provide it.
Thanks,
Madhuri
