Another win for our nonprofits! :)NPO's, you can now upload your organization's logo so that it appears on all of your supporters' Firstgiving fundraising pages.
Take a look at these great examples:

Ready to add your logo, too? It's easy. Just log in to your nonrpfoit account, and click Add your logo, listed under Account Management
Lookin' good!

Nonprofits, create a Twitter account and 'tweet' your updates and ideas to supporters! Here's a modern take on the old 'shout it from the rooftops' approach: Twitter allows you to update your community in real time, really easily.
Go to Twitter.com, create an account, and invite your supporters to follow you. Then tweet away; let people know about your Premium Start Page, share your own Firstgiving fundraising page, and keep folks informed about your event.
Here's a great example, http://twitter.com/leecountyhumane. This humane society has 20 followers!

Maggi BD replied on September 09, 2008 13:26 to the question "Please ADD Paypal and RME donate buttons!" in Firstgiving:
Dear HannaLea,
Thanks so much for posting your question.
At this time, as you know, we don't accept PayPal as a payment option for donations. I can tell you that we've heard this request from others, and we do plan to add PayPal to our payment options at some point in the future.
I don't have an exact date to quote for you, but please rest assured that this is on our radar!

A Firstgiving resource for all nonprofitsWe've spruced up our online resources area for nonprofits, http://www.firstgiving.com/statements/npo/resource_center_faq1.asp
We will continue to add more content in the coming weeks, and we would love your help.
So, my questions to nonprofits: what resources do you value most? Did we get this right, or is there more we could offer in the way of content?

Maggi BD replied on September 03, 2008 14:58 to the question "How to update the nonprofit's mission & programs on Firstgiving? How to add the nonprofit's website and pdf documents to my Firstgiving fundraising page?" in Firstgiving:
Hi, Myrna,
Thanks so much for posting this question. Happy to help.
At this time, Firstgiving needs to update the 'about my nonprofit' content that displays on the fundraising pages. You can either direct us to the organization's mission statement, if it is on their site, or you can have the nonprofit write to us directly with the text, support@firstgiving.com
You can use your personal message text to provide a link to the nonprofit's website. You cannot link to a pdf unless that document is hosted on the internet; in that case, you could link to it as you would any other web address.
Please let us know if you have any further questions. I love your enthusiasm about helping local seniors and their caregivers. We're here to help you achieve your goals.

Put the link to your Firstgiving start page in your event brochureHere at Firstgiving, we've had the honor of working with thousands of nonprofit organizations. That experience has given us invaluable information about what works when it comes to online fundraising.
We've put together best practices (see http://www.firstgiving.com/statements..., step 6) based on the feedback and success stories we hear every day.
Here's a perfect example of our best practice, "Add your Firstgiving page URL to brochures and printed hand-outs. Be sure to use your start page web address," http://www.theangelfund.org/wp-conten.... Thanks to The Angel Fund for sharing this brochure with us so that we could share it with you!-

Maggi BD replied on August 05, 2008 13:22 to the idea "Customize Donation Page" in Firstgiving:
Thanks so much for the suggestion!
We've got a lot of great changes on the horizon, and this is one of them. Though we're not sure exactly how it will evolve, we do want to allow for customization of the donation amounts, along with descriptive text such as you suggest.
Stay tuned for more information as this project takes shape.-

Firstgiving Site UpdateDue to the growing level of traffic on our site we have undergone an upgrade of not only hardware, but collocation facilities, too.
We have invested a significant amount on new hardware, software and human power to provide our users with a better platform to raise money online.
Our move to a new server happened overnight, 07/02/08; by early that morning the vast majority of Firstgiving pages were back up & running.
Some ISP’s take a little longer to update new server addresses, which means that a small number of users will continue to see our holding page for a little longer.
Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience. Should you wish to speak with someone directly, please don’t hesitate to contact us, support@firstgiving.com
Maggi BD replied on July 02, 2008 15:00 to the question "As an Admin, how can I delete a team created by mistake?" in Firstgiving:
Good morning,
Thanks for the post! We're happy to help.
At this time, only a Firstgiving staff member can delete a team. We would like to give this ability to the fundraiser, however, so that he or she can delete a team created in error, one that's a duplicate, etc.
We've got a lot of exciting changes to the site in the works, both now & in the fall. I will pass your suggestion on to our development team, so your voice will be heard.
Our helpdesk offers a speedy turnaround, and for now, folks do need to write to support@firstgiving.com to have a team deleted.
Thanks again for posting about this important topic.
