UK SMS alerts: any news?
As more of my friends are joining twitter here in the UK, I'd like to start receiving SMS alerts again. However, when I go to enable them on the twitter settings, I am told my number is not supported (I'm on a UK O2 number).

I vaguely recall SMS alerts being switched off in the UK for some business reason (I used to use them to get a daily to do list from 'remember the milk'). So my question is:

When will UK twitter users get SMS alerts back?
Is there any news? Please could we be kept informed?

(That's three questions, but they are all related!)

I've never had a problem before, nor a PIN set up, and I'm getting that error. I'm in the UK - could the system have taken against the international dialing codes?

what are twitter shortcuts?
I'm using twitter to update my lists on 'remember the milk'. Their FAQ seems to suggest I can use !c as a shortcut for !complete but presumes I know what twitter shortcuts are - am I right in thinking the !c command is identical to !complete?
