Job Board

There are a lot of jobs coming up for other orgs that are similar to SVBC, as well as event-specific openings (like BTWD). Maybe you ought to have a job board, where people could submit jobs to your site (or e-mail address), and then you can post the ones that are in sync with your message.

While that may be a technique used by phishing scams, it is not actually the spirit in which we use them. Groundspring is the service provider for our mailing list, and by replacing the links in their e-mail like that, they end up redirecting to the actual page and logging that it was clicked through. This is actual a technique for measuring what the readers on the bulletin are interested in.

I agree that it looks weird, and I am glad that your client catches that it is not the same URL. I am personally very wary of these types of metric techniques. That is why since the beginning I have always tried to make the bulk of the links in the content of the bulletin links that are both track-able through Groundspring, but also leave the ability to copy and paste in the URI directly in your web browser.

Except for the table of contents, of course, I almost always have all the links show up that way. No one has mentioned this before, and it does provide us with valuable metrics that assist us in providing information to our members. So, what I can tell you is that it is quite intentional, we have made a note of this, I regret that our actions are not completely obvious, and we will discuss this in our next staff meeting. ^_^

Currently the site has it's RSS feeds turned off. We are in the process of upgrading the site, and the feeds are garbled. The blog feeds work, but that is about it. Please keep an eye on the site, very soon we will have them working correctly.
