This does seem like a warranty issue. Although we do stand behind the high quality of our products, manufacturing defects do occur.
If you could please send us your bag, along with where you purchased it from to:
Portage World-Wide Inc.
Attn: Warranty Dept.
110 Greene St. Suite 407
New York, NY 10012
We will look at your bag in person. If does indeed fall under our warranty policy (which from your photos it looks like it does) we will send you a brand new replacement bag for free.

In other countries we do not handle the distribution as we have distributors that handle all those wholesale accounts themselves.
I can let you know that this is the website of our Singapore Distributor: http://avantexplus.com.sg/ You can e-mail him and he can let you know what retailers carry our products there.
For Australia you can purchase our products at http://rushfaster.com/.
If you have any other questions let me know!

Lauren J. replied on January 10, 2008 15:25 to the idea "Custom embroidery" in Manhattan Portage:
We do offer customization on bags for 25 pieces or more for volume and corporate orders.
We do use a professional embroidery house and they have a minimum on the number of pieces that we send to be embroidered. (As we do not have the facilities to do embroidery at our own warehouse).
You can always take your bag to a small embroidery stand (a lot of malls have them) and have your name embroidered yourself for a nominal fee.
As for our old xxl DJ bag, I do not believe this particular style will be put back into production for our anniversary, however we do have several different 25th anniversary items in the works. Keep an eye out here and on our website for details!

Get Satisfaction Web Integration! If you made it here, congrats!
We have now integrated get satisfaction into Manhattan Portage.com.
I hope this will allow our customers to give us feedback on our products, and allow them to give us suggestions on how to improve Manhattan Portage Bags, or even just a place for our customers to connect.
Hopefully some people will take advantage of our service while they take care of some holiday shopping.
Take care all!

Manhattan Portage's 25th Anniversary!!!Everyone's favorite classic messenger bag company is turning 25 next year!
That's right, our little red logo will be 25 years old and we will have special limited edition pieces that will be produced only for this year.
We are new to this site and will appreciate any comments or feedback on our products.
Have a greet weekend everyone.

Lauren J., an employee of Manhattan Portage, replied on December 06, 2007 21:27 to the question "Waterproofing" in Manhattan Portage:
All of our bags should be water resistant but if it does not have a vinyl lining is not waterproof! We do sell waterproof styles, such as our 1615 or any bags that are made out of waxed canvas.
If you do try to put any chemicals on your bag to add waterproofing you will unfortunately void the life time warranty on your bag.
