    Mano Swerts
    Hi,

Glad to see that there is somebody investigating the problem so quickly ;-)

No the groups existed in Gmail (Google Apps account), but they were empty. I know because I have already played with the contacts in my Google Apps account. I synced my contacts and groups from my mac's Address Book to Soocial. Then I synced those contacts and groups from Soocial to my Google Apps account. I logged in to my Google Apps account to check if it worked and then I saw that I missed those groups. The contacts that belonged to the groups are available in Google Apps but aren't linked to any group (so it seems). In Soocial the groups Friends and Family still exist but I don't know if it already synced with Gmail again.

One thing that pops to mind is that Soocial asked to remove all my contacts before syncing. I clicked 'yes' to have a clean start. Maybe it happened then? It also said that I would receive a backup of my old Google Apps contacts via mail but that never happened, but because I had all my contacts in Soocial, I didn't care.

The problem is that they weren't deleted before I synchronized with Soocial. So I guess that Soocial deleted the groups somehow. Wouldn't it be nice if Soocial checked if a certain group had the name of a protected one? Then it shouldn't try to create the group (which maybe caused the deletion) but just add the contacts. Or isn't this possible?

Gmail problem with build in groups
I have two groups in my Mac Address Book: "Friends" and "Family". These are perfectly synced to soocial itself, but those groups do not appear in Gmail. The contacts in those groups are synced perfectly to Gmail, though, but they are not linked to any group in Gmail and those 2 groups do not show.

    A gift from heaven!
Soocial is a gift from heaven! The only service that I know that syncs ALL my Apple Address Book fields (anniversary, birthday, ...) to my Gmail account and offers central storage. Plus its FREE!

Some fields are synced but not shown in Soocial web client
Soocial is like a dream coming true! It is the first sync that syncs all fields (father, mother, birthday, ...) and the only application so far that syncs my Mac Address Book groups to Gmail!

The only thing that I need to point out is that some fields do show up in Gmail (so they are synced), but they do not show up in the soocial web client. These are the following:

    - birthday
    - mother
    - father
    - partner
    - anniversary

This would probably be the killer feature for me too, to turn to a desktop client for my gmail accounts (gmail + google apps). I like the gmail web interface but always liked desktop clients better.

I am looking for a desktop client at the moment and this feature would certainly give me that little push to buy a license for postbox. But it will probably take a couple of months before the feature will be available in postbox.

Edit: Maybe an idea for when this feature is implemented: gmail labels have colors, so it would be nice that topics would automatically use the same colors as applied in the gmail web client.
