Song not playing until I click the slider

This may be related to an earlier problem that I reported, but I believe it deserves its own topic.

When a track starts, the slider moves and the counter begins counting, but there's no sound. If I click anywhere on the track slider, I get sound, then if I click on the slider at the beginning, the song plays fine. What's up?

So I was pretty excited with Songbird 1.0 and have been using it for the last week. One major problem encountered so far.

I have found whole groups of songs in my library that will not play. Actually, the track slider and counter show that the track is playing, but no sound. However, these files do play in WMP and Winamp. They are mp3 files.

I tried deleting and reimporting them. No luck. I then tried uninstalling Songbird, deleted my profile, and the whole Songbird file in Documents and Settings \ Application Data. But complete new install and reimporting the library did not work. Very strange.

I'm now in the process of tracking down another copy of these songs and will give that a try.

Sorry, been out of town for a while.

Yes, preliminary testing of hiding the Lyric Master pane seems to solve the problem, and, yes it was Maximizing.

I'll post again if problem continues.

I was just hoping that there was a way to stop Songbird from maximizing every time it starts a new song. Am I missing something?

Okay, good news is that if I delete the files in my library and then reload them, all of the tagged material appears. That is good, but having a feature to search for updated tracks in the library without deleting would be better. Looking forward to that.

Just to add to this, it appears that other info that I embedded, such as Album Year does not appear either. Any ideas?

Would like a quick fade out and fade in when jumping from point to point in a track.

One thing I've always really liked about Winamp is the way it does a quick fade out and in any time you jump around in the track. So, instead of an abrupt stop and start, it's just a little nicer on the ears. I do a lot of jumping around from point to point in a song as I learn to play songs on guitar. It's a small, but really nice feature.

I'm migrating to Songbird. I've been tagging all my files with Mp3Tag and embedding the album art. But Songbird is not recognizing or finding that album art. Some Album Art appears, but not all. I'm confused as to why.
