yes, I'm pressing the set up button. the set up button is located beside the ethernet port of the device.

I'm using DB9 female to DB9 female serial cable. i connect it to the serial port of the device to the PC.

when i start the device manager. i go to the serial access tab select the COM1 port and then click initialize.

when i click initialize, the device will prompt me a warning message that says "All settings will be restored to their default factory values. Do you wish to continue?" then i will click ok

after i click "ok" the the device will instruct me to press the setup button.

then it is stuck in this procedure.

note: the cable is good I am using it to other ds203 device and its working fine.

my PC can't detect my device.

then I'll be stuck in this step.

(i'm using good cable and correct port)

Is there any one can resolve this problem??

how can i manualy reset the device?? is there any software needed to do this?

i have two devices.

the first two screen shots is my defective device and the third screen shot is my working device.

I'm uploading this firmware EM_370D.BIN and i connected it to the serial. i followed the DS Manager's instruction to hold the setup button and power it while holding the setup button. but the upgrade wont go through the device just keep blinking in red.
