Marc LaFountain replied on July 22, 2009 18:25 to the question "I bought a .com domain name for my tumblr, but the domain is just redirecting to my tumblr URL. How do I fix this?" in Tumblr:
It looks like you have forwarded your domain to Tumblr. We recommend that you point the domain's A Record to Tumblr rather than use forwarding. Details are at:

Marc LaFountain replied on July 22, 2009 12:51 to the question "is there a way to order your widgets and posts etc so everything its in the order you want in your profile?as in myspace???" in Tumblr:
Hi, Florencia. What you are trying to do would require lots of continual post reordering.
You can set a custom date and/or time for a post and that will change its ordering on your blog (but not on your Dashboard). To do this, edit a post by clicking the Edit link to the right of the post in the Dashboard, click on the "Advanced options" link on the post page, edit the date and/or time and click the "Save changes" button.

Marc LaFountain replied on July 19, 2009 23:11 to the problem "You've exceeded your daily photo upload limit (What's the limit?)" in Tumblr:
Hello! The API isn't actually designed for that sort of mass post migration and there is not a way to get around the photo posting limit.
We do not have a feature for importing archives from other platforms and have no immediate plans to due to compatibility and conversion issues.

Unfortunately, we can't provide technical support for HTML customizations. Given our large number of users, we just don't have the resources. My apologies.
If you would like to learn more about HTML and CSS so you can customize your Theme, visit http://www.w3schools.com/html or http://www.w3schools.com/css.
Info on Tumblr's customizable theme templates is at http://www.tumblr.com/docs/custom_themes.

Hi, again. That post was originally created using our recently introduced Submissions feature. Because of that, It automatically has a "submisson" tag.

Hi, Adam. You can add Custom CSS by clicking the Customize link on the Dashboard and then clicking the Advanced tab. With enough HTML and CSS knowledge you should be able to do what you are suggesting.

Marc LaFountain replied on July 14, 2009 19:04 to the question "URL shortening: tumb.lr?" in Tumblr:
Hello! I am not aware of http://tumb.lr/ and if it exists I don't think it is formally associated with Tumblr.com.
http://tumblr.com/xxxxxxxxx links are only for auto-tweets at this time. But, I will pass your suggestion on to the team.
Thanks!

Marc LaFountain replied on July 14, 2009 15:42 to the question "How can I bring my Disqus comments on my Tumblr to my Wordpress?" in Tumblr:
Hi, Andrew. Disqus comments exist outside of Tumblr and are not a part of the Tumblr feed. You would have to speak with Disqus about installing mirrored comments on WordPress.

Marc LaFountain replied on July 13, 2009 15:37 to the question "Is there any way to edit or redirect the Tumblr 404 page?" in Tumblr:
Hi, Roman. The 404 is not editable, but I will pass you suggestion along to the team.
I would suggest adding text or a link in your Description or Custom HTML that explains to viewers that you've changed platforms and that many old links will be broken.
Thanks!

Embedded images in Text posts are not displayed on the Dashboard. Try creating Photo posts if you want the images to be displayed on the Dashboard.

Marc LaFountain replied on July 10, 2009 17:53 to the question "Tumblr not sending posts to Twitter" in Tumblr:
Hi, Steve. I will let the developers know. It's likely a design issue since Twitter Integration works with the default tumblelog on your account and not with additional tumblelogs on your account. But, you should still see the checkbox on the default tumblelog and we will look into that. Thanks!

Hi, Matt. We are very much alive. Make sure you are clearing ALL cookies for Tumblr.com. Make sure you are clearing cookies not clearing bookmarks/favorites or histories. Try disabling any browser add-ons you are running. And, make sure you aren't running security or firewall software that is affecting your connection to Tumblr.
