If you moved the A Record from a domain (or sub-domain) from your old server to Tumblr, then you can no longer use that domain to access your old server via FTP. And, Tumblr doesn't support FTP.

You would need to either use whatever domain your old server now has for FTP or move the A Record for your domain back to that old server.

I would save a copy of your Custom HTML, revert to a built-in theme, see if that helps, and if it does then add your customizations back one at a time until you isolate the problem.

This can be done by going to the Dashboard, clicking the Customize link, clicking the Theme tab, saving a copy of your Custom HTML, clicking the "Disable custom HTML" link, and clicking the "Save changes" button.

Unfortunately, we can't provide technical support for HTML customizations. Given our large number of users, we just don't have the resources. My apologies.

A comment on the question "HTML Editor Strips Out umm.... HTML?" in Tumblr:

The HTML field in the Rich Text Editor can strip out some HTML. If that is happening, switch to the Plain Text Editor in Preferences.

Hello! You can click the Customize link on the Dashboard and then click the Advanced tab to have to have tumblelog show up to 15 posts per page.

The permalink is not on the create/edit page of the post.

You can click the dog-eared upper right corner of a post on the Dashboard to go to the permalink web page for that post. The permalink location on your public tumblelog pages can vary, but is often the post date, post time, comments link, or some sort of symbol on your public web pages.

It isn't an arbitrary limit. There are different and sometimes conflicting standards for animated GIFs and so it can be difficult at times to make certain GIFs work well.
