I didn't knew about the limited invitation I had. So I've added every single person I consider a friend. The first ones got email and didn't maybe read it... So I consider it's dead invitation.

Wuala ONLY uses 32bit java on windows. But it links into a 64bit DLL i think.

Good comment... I did not notice. As far as I know, this is installed from a standard 64-bit Vista distribution. It is possible that the Java installation is for wrong architecture but I doubt that. – etu, on July 18, 2008 22:34

Same problem:

This comes randomly in 0-2 minutes after start up.
It works OK in my other 32-bit Vista computers. I updated Java runtime to brand new but does not help.
I have to try the trick to disable filesystem integration...

After using Wuala for one day I was wishing there was a Download folder under My Files. And if you delete a file from this folder it should delete it off your hard drive.

Also if folder share goes offline (like the "plays 4 sure" DRM Servers) there goes your data!
AND it's not encrypted, afaik.
AND it's rather limited in size.
AND it might not always be free of charge (I don't really trust Microsoft in this case, and I certainly would NOT upload any sensitive files to their servers! Possibly unencrypted!)
AND it's a "Windows Live" Service... no Linux, no OS-X, no Unix, no Solaris, no ...

Wuala however has also it's downsides for business cases too, butbetter support for this might be an option for 2009 or 2010 and Wuala 2.0 or something (the Open Source version ;-) ) but definetly not for Alpha or (early) Beta!

Runs pretty stable for not being supported, Marcos. Only FSI isn't working (yet) but I can live with that.

BTW, 64-bit shouldn't be that hard to implement because most of java-stuff is available for 64-bit systems.

It runs OK, for various definitions of OK, on windows Vista x64 using a 32bit VM.

File locked when Uploads window is opened.

- Saved a file (mp3) on my desktop;
- Dragged it onto my group's music folder;
- Opened the Uploads window by double clicking in the upload icon - status bar;
- After the file got send it disappeared from the Uploads window (as it should);
- I tried to delete the file from my desktop and I couldn't - tried many times;
- Closing the Uploads window solved it - I could delete the file;

Most companies have *one* huge fileserver and 200+ computers...

The fileserver has like 2TB storage.. but if you add the 200+ computers with an average of 80gb free space... that makes a whole lot more :)

I'd propose that to my fellow IT staff :)
