    Mark
    Mary,

Thanks so much for the clear explanation. What I would do in your situation is go "Start->Messaging", then in the bottom of the center pane select "WebMail" (the middle button with the AirSet logo). Once in the "Send Email" window, select "Address Book", and then the "Subgroups" tab. In the subgroups tab, you can select as many or as few subgroups as you would like. You can also arbitrarily mix members with contacts with subgroups to get exactly the combination you want.

    Does this help?

    Mark
This is Mark, from AirSet, and I'll be happy to help.

First, I need to understand which application you are using. In the messaging application (Start->Messaging) , you can select the various users you wish to send email by checking on their boxes, and then selecting Email or WebMail. If you choose "webmail", once in the message you will see an "address book" icon where you can make further choices, both from members of the current cloud computer as well as from your Contacts.

All of that said, I have a feeling this doesn't answer your question because it sounds like you are trying to send email from another part of the AirSet application. Please let me know if this answers your question or if I can give you more information to help you.

    Thanks for using AirSet!

Mark replied on November 15, 2009 21:25 to the question "Too many email notices!!!" in AirSet:

    Mark
    Zac,

This is Mark from AirSet, and I'm sorry you are frustrated. You mention in your first comment that you have set the church cloud computer's default activity notifications to "never". This will take effect for any new user who has never modified their activity notifications settings. I'm sure that the other users which are receiving these notifications have probably modified their activity notification settings and that's why they are receiving notifications. If they wish not to receive notifications, they need to go into each of their own preferences and change them.

Now, onto your particular case. You mention that you're trying to "unsubscribe my other VC calendars from my church calendar". Are you using the Calendar->Sources menu item" to remove iCal calendars, or did you mean that you are removing shares of events via the Calendar-Share menu option (i.e. events which appeared as "Events Shared From..." in the legend) by going into another cloud computer, selected Calendar->Share, and unchecking boxes to remove these shares?

Please let me know the details of exactly what you're doing, because I do agree with you that the member which you highlighted indeed should not be getting notification emails for calendar share changes which they did not participate in, which certainly seems to be the case in your situation.

Finally, I must admit I'm a little puzzled by the notification email you received as well, particularly by the "the organizer" text rather than it being your name. Have you changed your name in the cloud computer to "the organizer"? I would be interested in seeing the email; if you could forward it to mark.porter@airsetinc.com, that would be a great help.

Thanks for the feedback and the continuing information. Once I get your information, I will work with the engineering team to determine if you have stumbled upon a bug in the system.

    Thanks!

    Mark
    Edward,

This is Mark Porter from AirSet, and I'll be happy to help you.

Can you give a bit more detail on exactly where you are having problems? Is this using the calendar inside a web page or using it native inside the web application (i.e. www.airset.com)? Also, what operating system are you running (XP, Vista, 7, etc) and what exact version of IE8 are you running (For example my ?->About Internet Explorer says I'm running 8.0.6001.18702).

Also, are you running anything in any other tabs of your browser?

Finally, has this always been the case for you or did something recently happen? While we have seen this problem in the past, we haven't heard anything about it for a long time.

    Thanks!

    Mark
This is Mark from AirSet and I'll be happy to help. Have you checked that the cloud computer in question is set up correctly to deliver you emails? To check this, go to the "gear" icon in the lower right, click on it, and select "Manage 'cloud computer name' settings".
In the upper right, you will see a panel titled "Your preferences". There are two sections of interest here:

The first is "Contact points". Make sure than an email address is filled in here, and that it's the right one.

The second is "Activity Notifications". You will want to check that "email" is selected for the "Calendar reminders" option.

I hope this solves your problem. It is does not, please post back here and I'll be happy to you with it further.

    Thanks for using AirSet!

P.S. It could also be a spam-filter problem. Have you tried going into the messaging application (start->messaging) and sending yourself an email and seeing if you get it?

    Mark
This is Mark, from AirSet, and I'll be happy to help you.

I need a little bit more information. It sounds like you are having problems adding participants by email address to an event on your calendar? When I go into the system and enter an event, I click on the small downwards-pointing triangle beside the word Participants. There are three options on that menu and the bottom one is "Add Participants by Email Address". In the window that comes up, there is an address book icon. When you click on that address book icon, a dialog box should come up which allows you to select participants from either your default cloud computer or from any of your cloud computers (by clicking on "More Cloud Computers"). Then you can select the participants you want by checking each one. Once you are back in the event window, you will see them listed at the bottom of the list of cloud computers with "and..." Note that if you have a lot of contacts or a slow network connection, it may take 5-10 seconds to load your contacts (I have over 3000 contacts scattered around 20+ cloud computers and it took about 8 seconds).

I'm sure you're having a problem, or else you wouldn't have posted to GetSatisfaction. Please tell me in detail what is happening for you. If you wish, you can change your password to a temporary password and email your email login id and that temporary password to mark.porter@airsetinc.com and I will be happy to look and see if it is a problem with your account.

Thanks for using AirSet! I'm sure we can figure out this little glitch quickly and get you back on your way to inviting people from your Address Book.

Mark replied on November 02, 2009 20:44 to the question "Importing tasks" in AirSet:

    Mark
    Ellen,

This is Mark, from AirSet. I am sorry to say that we currently don't support importing tasks. About the best I can tell you is that it is in the top handful of enhancement requests for the Tasks/Lists application and will certainly be addressed in the next release. However, at this time, that release has not been scheduled. I have added your vote to the many votes for this feature (including a bunch of internal votes).

I know this doesn't help you with getting your tasks into AirSet, but we really appreciate your feedback and it always helps us prioritize to hear about what users want most.

Mark replied on October 21, 2009 13:18 to the question "Not Seeing my Groups calendar, just a personal" in AirSet:

    Mark
    Chris,

This is Mark Porter from AirSet, and I'd be happy to help you. I think that the most likely scenario is that you are registered for Airset twice, possibly under two email accounts. One of these accounts is the one that is sending you your AirSet notifications, and the other one is the one which just has a personal account. Please see if this makes sense, and perhaps this solves your problem.

However, if this doesn't seem to be the right problem, then please email me your email address(s) to mark.porter@airsetinc.com and I can look up your account. It would also help if in your email you told me the name of the group which you think you should be a member of and what would really help is the email address of somebody else who you know is in the group. Then I will be able to put together both your account and the group account and see what the problem is.

Thanks for your patience I'm sure we can resolve this very quickly.

    Thanks!

To make debugging easier, would it be possible for you to send your login credentials (email and a temporary password) to mark.porter@airsetinc.com? If not, that's ok and I'll try and look at it without logging in; but I will need your email address so I can look up your account, so please send me at least that.

    Mark
    Gail,

This is Mark Porter, from AirSet, and I'm happy to help you. I have looked at your account, and I see that you have multiple sessions where you have logged in and then have no other actions. I presume that these are the sessions you are referring to. For example, I see one today at 12:31 am. A typical problem that causes this is if your computer has it's security settings to not allow airset.com to store cookies on your computer (like many other websites, this is how our software "remembers" you, and remembers that you have had a successful login).

I am not an expert on the login code and have referred this to one of the engineers who is, to look at your account, but is it possible that something in the browser settings on your laptop has changed this week?

Until the engineer who is working on the login code can get back to you, have you made sure that you have cookies enabled in your browser? Also, could you try another browser than the one that it giving you problems, so that perhaps we can pin it down to a specific browser?

Thanks for your patience while we determine what the problem is together,

    Mark
    Gary,

This is Mark from AirSet. I actually use the iCAL weather feed to monitor weather in multiple locations. The only thing you might want to keep in mind is to subscribe to the weather feed in only your personal cloud computers; otherwise the nightly notifications of weather events go to everybody in your group and can be slightly annoying.

    Mark
    Nancy,

This is Mark from AirSet. I am sorry to say that at this moment, you are exactly right and you have to change the contact in both places. Conversely, I am very happy to say that there is an engineering project which is ongoing right now to fix that problem and others in the Contacts/Admin(Preferences) interface. I can't promise a release date or anything, but I can certainly say that work is currently ongoing.

I hope this helps to at least make it less painful while you wait for us to get this done.

Hi there, I would be very happy to help you, but as I said in my previous post, I will need a little bit more information, such as the exact problem you're having and what operating system and browser you are using. In particular, I'm wondering "when you say I'm having trouble registering" what problem are you having? Thanks!

Mark replied on September 24, 2009 21:30 to the question "Why can't I remove a tag from an existing event?" in AirSet:

    Mark
    Karen,

Thanks so much for your input. As you probably know, there are two ways to remove a tag from an event. The first is to select "None" in the dropdown as you suggest. The second is to click to edit tags for the event and uncheck the tags you don't want.

And, in testing I just did, neither work quite right. :-(

I was able to add and remove tags as much as I wanted, but I could not make the last tag go away. From your email, it sounds like you are using 1 tag per event, so this sounds like the behavior you are running into as well. Could you please confirm that this behavior is what you are seeing as well?

I have logged an issue against this with engineering and they should be looking at it quite quickly, as this is an important part of the system. When I find out more, I will post the information here.

In the meantime, could you work around this by creating a "Test Tag" and then removing the other tag you were working with, or will that not work for you?

Please respond here so I can continue to help you and others can benefit as well.

Thanks for using AirSet and we hope to get this problem resolved quickly!

Hi there! This is Mark Porter from AirSet, and I'd be happy to help you. Yes, it is certainly unusual to have trouble registering as we have many many people register every day, including today, so as far as I know, there is nothing wrong with registration.

Can you describe exactly what problem you are having and what operating system (PC/Mac/Linux) and browswer (IE6,IE7,IE8, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Thunderbird, etc) you are using? Is there a chance you have cookies disabled in your browswer?

Please let me know any information you have so we can get this resolved for you as soon as possible.

    Mark
    Peter,

This is Mark from AirSet, and I'd be happy to help. I'm puzzled (as you are) because the default is that pages and folders can be re-ordered in the Page List on the left side of the page. However, you sound like an experienced AirSet user, so I bet you knew that.

Would it be possible for you to send your login credentials to me privately (username/password) so we could log in to your account and take a look. We don't have access to your account without your password. We would ask that you change your password to something temporary first. You can email that username/password directly to me privately at mark.porter@airsetinc.com.

If you don't feel comfortable doing that, which is fine, please give me more information:
1-What operating system (PC/Mac/XP/Vista,etc) and browser are you having the problem on?
2-Did the problem happen recently? Did it used to work?
3-If you create a brand-new web document based on a template, does it have the same problem, or is it specific to the web document which you are using right now?

Please let me know either your login info or the answers to these questions (or both) and we can get started working on your problem.
