Getting back to the original topic (a special/private/home location). We like the idea, and it sounds simple enough up front, but when you start following the details of different use cases to conclusion you find yourself tackling bigger issues than you'd expect. Here's one example.
A "private" location requires someone to "Administer" it and approve who can see shouts from that location. If you own your own home this is pretty simple, but people in a shared housing environment.. Not so simple. Who get's "ownership" to administrate the location? What happens when the person with ownership moves and doesn't pass ownership to a remaining household member? Especially if it wasn't an amicable departure and they are purposefully not passing ownership. People will need a place to petition problems like this for resolution and we don't have the resources to support it right now.
What we really need is a more elegant solution, and we have a couple ideas, but the basic functionality of getting people together takes priority. I expect this issue to get addressed in the future, though probably not the immediate future.
