Rather than assuming the worst and posting a frustrated public message, we would have appreciated the courtesy of the benefit of the doubt, given the value of the service we provide out of our own time for our love of the game. We even provide this feedback service to you, as another avenue to kindly contact us, and as you can see, our follow up is prompt in all cases.
We will dig up the email sent, and perhaps you can check your ISP's or E-mail SPAM filter.
I apologize your lofty expectations were not met, however, we proudly stand by our site, our game, and our service. Given that the US Open concluded barely 3 weeks ago, the impatience demonstrated for the delivery of a token prize is a little off-putting, frankly. The response from the majority of patrons, who take part in the game for fun, has been gratitude, which is why we continue to provide our service.
Enjoy the British Open and thanks for the reply. When you send your address and name your brand of preferred golf ball to the eyeonmajors@gmail.com address and we confirm, we will send confirmation that we have sent the prizes.
Cheers,

Hi Bull,
We sent communication to the e-mail on file to send us an address to claim the golf balls and prizes summary. We have received no response from our winner -- in order to *send* the prizes, we need an address. We have a perfect record of sending prizes to the individuals who win the Global Pool with at least 5 members in the active group. Even a "bull" in a china shop can understand this.
Glad you enjoyed our fun-filled and FREE event, which we endeavor to create, expand and maintain out of our love for the game and our desire to share our game with friends who enjoy golf -- your response is a rare one.
If you choose to not join us in the future (or send us nasty, unfounded emails), that's okay with us too. The PGA has absolutely nothing to do with our site, so good luck with your letter writing campaign and the passive aggressive attitude in social networks.
Take care,

Hey Todd,
Thanks for the heads up and the great catch. I have solved it temporarily and also pushing a patch later today. Basically it only shows those who made the 6-count-5 cut, and upon signup, it wasn't setting that to a default of "made-6-count-5" cut. Should be fixed now!
Hope that helps and let me know if you encounter any other issues! (there might be a couple in the 6-count5 format as it's in its first BETA, but nothing we shouldn't be able to fix within an hour of hearing about the issue the first time)
cheers and enjoy the week,

Holts replied on April 06, 2009 18:43 to the idea "Handicapp Issue" in eyeonmajors:
...one [raw] idea to consider related to "commissioner":
By default, the creator of the group could be named the "commissioner" (to set side handicaps, etc). If there is a button to request that a person be named the "commissioner", this would enable group members to request a new commissioner. If 2 or more members requested a new 'commmissioner' it would set the requested person as the commissioner, and give them handicap setting privileges for their group. This would allow this to evolve and continue on as people leave a group, etc.
Happy to hear anyone's thoughts.

Holts replied on April 06, 2009 18:38 to the idea "Handicapp Issue" in eyeonmajors:
Hi Terry,
Greatly appreciate the kind words and feedback.
We've heard both sides of this issue. Bottom line is to satisfy both, we need to provide a couple formats. The "official" group pool and global pool will always be 6 count 6, with the handicaps coming from "The Committee". We love the excitement of the cut, the challenge of this format. It's tried and true. But that doesn't mean we can't provide a couple side formats though, and still keep it simple for those who wish to use those alternate formats in their groups among their friends.
I hope this makes you happy: we are planning to have an iteration where we provide a side format with 6 count top 5 (for starters). For instance, the tab for "Official Group Pool" will remain. Then there will be a tab for "Optional Group Pools", which will have sub-sections: 6 count 6 with/without handicaps, 6 count 5 with/without handicaps. Keeping these side formats in a separate tab, keeps it simple for those who don't wish to bother with optional formats, but allows those who desire this level of versatility.
The challenge when providing "user-group-customizable handicaps" is that who then determines the handicaps? Is there a "commissioner" in each group (defined by he/she who created the group)? What if the creator of the group or commissioner leaves? Who then gets passed the baton? Would be interested to hear your thoughts on those. We are holding off on this sort of customization until we have a clear idea of how to keep it simple, and limit confusion, so any thoughts there are appreciated!
I hope this addresses your concern, and hope you enjoy the great week ahead!
Kind regards,
